They're a really fun, stable ski, I'm really happy with them. I think in a 185 with Guardians they'd be a badass resort/slackcountry ski. I've got lighter setups for bigger tours but always like getting out on the G3s.

OK.....been a while. Here is the 2016-17 Quiver:

Size: 152.3 KB

    Name: IMG_4558.JPG
Views: 1690
Size: 101.7 KB

    USER OBJECTIVES:
5'7", 165 lbs, ski approx 60-80 days per year, seasons pass at Whistler, will still ski Baker lots on weekdays when they have pow, got a 10 day Revy trip planned in Feb. Don't see a need for skis under 108mm.

I keep 2 skis at Whistler and 2 skis with me at all times.

Was thinking of selling my 115mm NAS Pows 181cm and making a switch to a Moment Bibby 184cm (143-116-133) which would nicely fit right smack in the middle? Not sure yet....NAS Pows rip ice and pow.....and Bibbys cost too much new.

    SKIS:
188cm Line Magnum Opus with Jester Pros, 147-124-146....mounted at -2cm (fun pow)

186cm 4FRNT Renegades with Jester Pros, 135-122-139....mounted at -5cm (fast pow)

    181cm 4FRNT Kye 110s with Dukes, 136-110-121....mounted at -7cm (slackcountry)

181cm LibTech NAS Pow with Jester Pros 151-115-141...mounted at -5.5cm (Baker and sketchy stuff)

184cm 4FRNT Devastators with Jester Pros, 136-108-131...mounted at -5.5cm (daily driver)

    BOOTS:
    Tecnica Cochise Pro 130 (inbounds)
    Tecnica Cochise 120 (inbounds/slackcountry)

    POLES:
Eric Pollard Paintbrush adjustable (best poles ever)

^Gotta ask, why two pairs of Cochise..? Only difference I can think of is width.

Bought the 2nd pair as I got them for a steal. Used to have tech binders so last year had the Cochise 120s set up with the AT soles, and the 130s set up with alpine soles.

I don't really notice the width diff (Cochise 130 is 99mm last, Cochise 120 is 100mm last), probably cause I did the Blister boot boil thing on the 130s?

For skinning the wider width Cochise 120 is probably better.

Also, I now keep gear at a cabin in Whistler (Magnum Opus, Devs and 130 Cochises) for inbound weekend skiing and also keep gear in my van for midweek Baker and bc (Rens, Libs, Kyes and Cochise 120s).

Damn that is a lot of justifying?

Could also be that I have a gear buying problem.

    K

Here's our quiver. 3 on the left are the wife's skis (the ON3P's are custom Wrenegade 88's) and the 3 on the right are mine. The Bandits and the 1080 Foils are rock-skis now, and the lines on the Foils are before I got my jigarex...

I have to say the BG (to the right) looks really skinny in the waist for a 116

It's prolly the light, the fact that they have the new green sidewalls and the sorta trapezoidal shape when looking at them from above. They're the usual width tho, just have custom options underneath (in addition to the sidewalls). The wife liked the BG topsheet, so I had her Wren's setup with it when I ordered them.

All my skis are old. Even the new ones... and I finally had a bit of a get together.
    Recent Additions:
    Today:
Sweet Elan 188s... (found by the dumpster... not in I swear)
    This Fall:
    Kastle BMX 108 195
    Volkl Explosiv 3 190
    Vokl Vertigo G40 190

    Missing:
Fisher Atua ... Worn out to flat Camber and one bent tail with two rockered early rise tips
Salomon Rocker2 108 190 with Duke ... Loaned to a friend who doesn't have skis... I don't much care for them anyway, but thats most likely the duke .

What do you guys think about what is considered as part if the quiver vs. a ski collection or full on hoarding?
Do you guys keep retired skis that you never plan to ski again? Bent? Broken? Singles?

I'd say to be part of the quiver, the skis need to be skiable.
I also recognize that I might have a problem with ski hoarding.
and maybe I should ditch the old ex's skis and also acquire something thats fun at less than full throttle.
I do plan on making some ski furnature at some point, but that sounds an awful lot like hoarder talk.

What do you mean why do I have duct tape on my skis!?! It improves edge hold, increases pop, adds durability, and most importantly, boosts horsepower by like 30%... what? your skis don't have horsepower?
