Nice quiver!
I wish the Mindbender 116Cs were a bit more durable. But they aren’t so they get touring duty…
When do you grab the JJs or the 116Cs?

Thanks man. Those MBs might look familiar, heh. I just picked up the JJs this summer (for $25!!!), so I haven't been on them yet. The shape is comparable to the MB, but it has more taper and camber, deeper rocker lines, and a more forward mount. I'm hoping it's going to be a lot of fun in heavy, wet PNW 3D snow. If not, it'll probably get cut because those are about the only soft snow conditions I didn't love the MB in.

Got the quiver lined up:
Head Monster 88 184 cm: these are feeling pretty tired, might not really use them anymore. If they still made them I’d get another pair.
Backland 100: new this year, light and supportive
Raven: I keep thinking I want to try something else in this ~105mm touring slot, but these are just so good
Pescado: super fun ski, have not had a bad day on them. Inserts for Zeds and Shifts so good for resorts too
Peacemaker: new paint job to get rid of the cancerous sparkle look
Quixote: might take this up to Baker, would be a good DD there
Countdown 114 Ltd: IDK why I’ve pushed this ski to the back burner, I really like it. Good for pretty specific conditions: 8-16” resort pow days with lots of chop in the afternoon. Could also be a good Baker ski.
Bodacious: speaks for itself
Head Kore 99: I went to this ski a lot last year, more versatile then the monster88 and more maneuverable then the Enforcer 104 free. I liked it better overall then the M5 Mantra
Praxis MVP 108: the older 110 mm MVP was a great ski when I had it, I just thought it was a bit too light. This version is 100g more per ski, and should be more damp with the veneer. New geometry also looks great for an all rounder.
Wildcat 190: finally jumped on the wagon, I had the WC108 and was meh on them so hoping for a better reception
Kusala: great pow ski that is surprisingly versatile.

Nope, just have to work a 4 month contract starting sometime in December, and ski season is about 4 months long…
I still have a few other pairs around, but most of those are wall art haha.
I thought those MB116 looked familiar! Glad you like them.

Beder...Hell yah. Solid line up for sure. Funny that Nordica made a 93 and 94 Enforcer. I don't see how you can ski switch to road on any of those skis.

The Quiver Pic Rerun Thread
I realize I'm pretty lucky to be able to buy/sell so many skis.
Ten seems to be the number for the 2021/22 ski quiver.
Most of these are easy to ski (yet can also still rip somewhat) and are super maneuverable in tight spots as most have lots of tip/tail rocker.....which I like. Except for the K108s, which will be my mach-looney down open bowls at Whistler ski.
Love metal Pivot 15/18s or STH 16s clamps for inbounds. This is my first year without any Shifts on any skis....got some new Tectons for sidecountry missions. May add the CAST system to the R11s next year?
All these beauties are mounted between -6.3cm and -7.3cm, except for the K108s (-10.5cm). I can see keeping only 1 of the R11 and Blanks....and/or maybe only 1 of the E104 and Ranger 102 in future. Lots of overlap but don't care and I like all these skis.
Still want a ~105mm light ( 108mm)[/U][/I]:[/B]
Icelantic Nomad 115, STH 16 - I've owned many Icelantics over the years. Always loved the 115 Nomad the best. Wide, non-tapered tips for grip on groomers (like a Black Ops or Candide 5.0), way different feel than the Protos, combined with the very minimal camber underfoot (still manueverable) make this good/useful at Whistler where you see everything in a day.
Dynastar Proto, Pivot 18 - pivoty and slashy, slightly chargy, super fun inbounds pow day ski.
K2 Mindbender 116C, Tecton 12 - my sidecountry, directional pow ski, pretty light for its 116mm girth.
Blizzard Rustler 11, Pivot 15 - this ski does it all well, bit of metal for ripping, but still surfy it you want.
Salomon Blank, STH 16 - saw the massive tip/tail rocker on this heavyish ski and had to buy it. More than 1/2 the ski is rocker! These are fun inbounds in steep, tight pow in techy terrain....thinking this may make the Proto jealous? Pretty sure there is gonna be a fight between those two. Think slightly lighter, wider E104
Volkl K108, (Pivot 15?) - this one is the outlier in the quiver for me. Blaming banditman and Corbetts. Figured in a quiver this big, with so many similar skis, that I needed one ski to push myself on. The mistake I made when I owned the M102 is I kept taking it to areas where I could die. Plus I mounted the M102 forward and the tails didn't release. Mounting these where Volkl says to....this will be my open-bowl, big-turns, crud-busting ski to use in terrain where I can let these run.....to go really really fast on.
Non-Pow Quiver (< 105mm):
Nordica Enforcer Free 104, STH 16 - what I take out if want an easy day, or a good day, or a ripping day, or a fun day....does it all easily.
Fischer Ranger 102 FR, (STH 16?) - had to own this ski after reading lots about it, and found it at a great price....figure it will be like a more precise E104? Plus its pink. E104 may have to look out?
PS - the story on buying these is I was in Whistler last weekend and fondled a pair....but they were sold out and charging $900CDN + $108 tax = $1,008CDN all in. I get home from Whistler on Sunday (Dec 5) and google "Fischer Ranger 102 FR Canada" and SnowCountry.EU in the Netherlands shows up with a pair of these for $371 Euro + $74 Euro shipping....@ 1.45 that is $646CDN delivered. They arrived Thursday (Dec 8). I was shocked. Now UPS just texted me saying I owe $70 in duty/taxes....but $716CDN all in for a sought after ski is pretty damn good....
Dynastar M-Free 99, Pivot 15 - After loving the Proto 118mm so much.....this made sense for my 100mm ski. Love the shape.
Line Blade, STH 16 - a quiver specific ski....for groomers and/or goofing around.
Boot Quiver:
Dalbello Lupo Air 130 - lighter touring for when I get a lighter touring ski.
Dalbello Lupo HD 130 - sidecountry laps.
Dalbello Krypton 130 (I also have 2 more pair of these not shown!) - inbounds boot...punched beautifully, but the soles are getting worn and can't be replaced. I run these with Tecnica Cochise tongue liners vs the Krypton wrap liner that came with them.
Dalbello Krypton 120 - inbounds...got new Zipfit Freeride liners in these....

Updated quiver. Thinking of adding a Ranger 102 to the mix, but can't say I really NEED it unless it replaces the mf108 or menace 98.
Also will hopefully snag some more pivot toes so I don't have to use the entire CAST assembly when I switch binders between skis
I've learned to appreciate the skill set and resilience that comes with pounding bumps. Was previously doing it with my menace 98s, but I've realized it's been about 15 years since I've had a ski less than 90mm in moguls. Looking forward to using the first set of skis this year at MJ.
So, from left to right:
1) Fischer Gunbarrel, 170cm. Mounted with Pivot 14s +.5cm. Mostly to feed my masochism and embrace my inner hotdogger.
2) Menace 98, 187cm, mounted with inserts for pivot 18s/CAST +3cm. Will put the holes for the brake retainer if I decide I want to tour on these again.
3) Blizzard Zero g 105s, 188cm +1cm. Mounted with Salomon MTNs. Heel assembly has inserts so I can pull the brakes off and use leashes to rotatill with my skis when I fall.
4) M-Free 108, 192cm. Mounted with inserts for STHs & CAST +3cm. My favorite ski right now. Will use for more gnarly Backcountry missions.
5) Stockli Stormrider TT, 192cm. Mounted with inserts for STHs +2cm. Less turny ski than the MF108, but with a similar purpose. This ski is fast and scares me.
6) Blizzard Gunsmokes, 193cm. Mounted with inserts for a lot of things... STHs, Outlaws, adrenalines +4cm. Usually used for teles these days, but sometimes I like to ski them for days when I'd usually be on the MF108, but want a little more width. Still a pretty unreplaceable ski, but the MF108 is very close.
7) Fischer Ranger 115s, 196cm. Mounted with inserts for CAST +4cm. Recommended is actually pretty far back on this ski. I'm antsy to try this ski out, but am slightly disappointed that the 196 version is actually 118mm underfoot. For lots of snow, and is slightly lighter than other options if I want to tour. Got it to see if it's a viable replacement to the Gunsmoke.
8) Volkl Shiro, 203cm. Drilled for pivots +3. Need to do some finagling on the heel before I put the inserts in. For Alaska or maybe Japan, or if I hit the dream day. May mount them for my teles as well for funsies.

The Quiver Pic Rerun Thread
Nice quiver! Looking forward to your thoughts on the Ranger 102 FR, Blank, and of course, the K108.
I so badly want to rip some lines down Harmony and Symphony on my 191 K108’s on a good day.

The Quiver Pic Rerun Thread
I’d take the M-Free 108 and Gunsmokes to Japan if I had your quiver. Don’t need much more. No point. The 203 Shiros would be rad, but way too big for most of the tree skiing.
I only took 196 Protests and survived. The one Uber deep say they were not enough. The rest of the days they were over kill. I’m always thinking about going back and if I took two pairs Id take something 105-110 with a dedicated touring binding, and something 115ish with CAST. If I took one pair again I’d take something like the Solomon Blank or the Rossignol BO Sender Squad. I would of been fine with just the Gunsmokes.

Hopefully some of memory lane on the right will be getting bindings this year but here is where we are for the season, after some of the more heavy single year changes.
L2R: 178 ZeroG 95, 188 ZeroG 105, 187 Billy Goat Tour, 182 woodsman 96, 183 Bonifide 97. 186 Kartel 108s, 192 M-Free 108s, 192 Billy Goats. The rest are just for the nostalgia, but I’d like to get some bindings on the 189 Vicious and 184 Legend 105s. Tacoma built Billy Goats, Jeronimos, and Wrenegades on the far right.
