In the process of moving to a new place. New to me older house. Finally a chance to consolidate skis both active quiver and old stuff. Skis are in the back of the garage in an old horse stall. I have a ski collecting problem.

    Active quiver: Lots of overlap

    195 Madchus Epoch /pitbulls-bushwack touring
192 K2 Annex 98 /02's- freeheeling, cause tele is dead.
    188 K2 Sidestash/dyna ft-12
    193 K2 Annex 118 /pivots
    190 Fischer Watea 106 /pivots
    190 Salomon Q-Lab /pivots
    193 Blizzard Cochise /pivots
196 Blizzard Bodacious /pivots soon enough. Got and old pair kicking around

Q-Lab and Cochise are both amazing skis that seem to do it all. Like them both a lot. Q-labs may be the stiffest hand flex ski I have ever seen but just plain work. Beefy and stable.

Don't know I got to be such a K2 fanboy. The 98 is a good but underrated ski. Sidestash so nice in pow a little heavy to push up hill but worth it. The 118 I'm a little meh over. Great in pow, not that great in the crud. Think I would like them with a little metal.

Watea 106 very nice also. Have had, still have the Watea 96 which I liked. The 106 go just as good.

Got the Bodacious used on flea-bay this past summer for cheap. Wanted the all green pre-spurred version in 196 but they never turned up. Can't wait to try those.

    The Quiver Pic Rerun Thread

L to R, organized by height

RIP 176 Stockli Stormrider DP Pro+, sidewall is busted in 3-4 spots

179 Ramp Woodpecker, EC daily driver rock ski

181 4FRNT Switchblade, EC jib daily driver rock ski

184 Head Monster 108, WC daily for skiing fast/ EC pow ski fast

185 Cochise 1st gen, WC daily / EC pow (i think? just got these off a mag to replace some 184 Devastators I gifted to a friend)

185 Salomon Lord, crappy ski with sweet custom paint, headtyroliadukes, touring rock ski

186 4frnt EHP with Dukes, powder touring rock ski, getting really soft thru abuse

186 Liberty Variant 113, good up to a ft of powder at my weight, crudski / chopski versatile

192 Atomic Atlas - FS on GS, great ski -- can anyone craft an argument on why I should keep them?

193 4Frnt EHP - scored these over the summer, gives me the fizz

    196 4frnt Renegades

    Second pic-

185 Parlor Cardinal 100, Maple/Aspen core stiff flex, full camber. fast hard snow / skied corn. Quite demanding in anything untracked. these skis are awesome. Someone else built these and returned them to Parlor.

All bindings 14-16 din range, mostly Salomon/Tyrolia

Out of the DPS lineup the RPCs have peaked my interest the most. I had a pair of 202 138s. They were a fun ski that delivered faceshots galore but I liked my Praxis Protests better. The Protests are nearly as loose and surfy with the added benefit of being able to set an edge and carve on soft snow.

Simplifying this year. L to R:

189 Volkl 100Eight/Guardians: touring and trees
190 Kneissl Tanker: might be the last unmounted pair on the planet. Waiting for the LP's to die.
188 Stockli Scot Schmidt Pro: backups.
190 Legend Pro/FKS 155: rock/low tide/everything. On its last legs, but still crushes all.
188 SS Pro/FKS 155: greatest frontside charger ever made. Period.
192 Movement Super Turbo: had guardians, soon to have FKS 185. Super fun directional pow ski, too much to tour with.
    192 Cochise/FKS 185: mach schnell crud smoosher.

    Not pictured: race stuff.

I got the new 104L because I like the YW8 102 a lot in soft snow but with a 25m sidecut and a little bit more taper I think they might be perfected and a lot better on hard snow and windpack =)

Curious which you think are more burly - the SS pro or tanker? I love that era of skis

There’s still time for a committed whoar. There’s a pair of 188 Schmiddys on GS. Do it.

I was a total Stockli fanboi of their line mid 2000s- 2014ish for anything but powder. The later models (DPs etc) are now impossible to find in the longer lengths. The last beastly ski they made, the Stormrider pro (105 waist) unapologetically only came in 190 and 200 lengths- not for the weak. Word is that the new lines are soft and don’t have that appeal anymore.

On the pre-rocker era- I still love those kind of skis on anything but untracked, then give me rocker please. The Schmidt would be a crushing groomer ski / low tide / skied off ski.

THere are still skis being made that bark back to that time. 192 Cochise (pictured) , Dynastar built the 192 LP 105 last year. 192 Volkl Confession.
Problem is, you and almost everyone else who talks like you isn’t buying them...

The Confession doesn't belong on that list. It's not near what the Cochise or LP 105s are.

That's because I already have 191 Monster 108s, which are significantly stiffer, heavier, and smoother than all of those you mention. They are unreal.

No need for lesser, yet similar skis, besides the 191 Katanas of course, which are better for schmearing powder and trees..

I don't think anyone can reasonably say that Betelgeuse isn't buying enough skis. Maybe not enough skis new from manufacturers -- but that dude is a whore amongst whores.

Honestly, I don't find Blizzards any damper or more stable than my beloved On3ps. They are "edgier" yes, but the On3ps are capable of having so much more fun, yet still charge. Skied Bodacious and Cochise quite a bit. Also, Blizzards base durability is like armada/atomic. If I just look at a shark, the skis have a deep core shot.

Volkl lost me when they dumped the metal katanas, but v werks katanas are on my short list for future touring skis.

You guys are going to see me on the year 2050 re make of that show hoarders, "whoreders", and my house will be more stacked with skis than SkiFishBums.. the worst part is I also hoard motorcycles Its a problem, I'm definitely a lil crazy.

To be fair My monster 108s (in the plebian 184 length) look like they do everything the older type skis do but easier and better, off piste.

But since I enjoy the challenge- I do believe it makes me a better skier- I picked up a pair of 185 Parlor Cardinals full camber Stiff layup and they are what I thought they were, everything those old skis were sans metal. They rage, rebound like crazy but don’t turn until you’re going fast. Not sure I could handle them if I lost 20 lbs. the guys who own parlor are all former, pretty high level racers

The 184s are still beasts. I have 184 98s as well. They feel just as stiff as my 191 108s, although it seems like I get more leverage when hand-bending the longer length.

Everyone used to say the 191 Katanas had a stiffer "athlete" flex than the 184s, but I didnt think so. The 191s are definitely much burlier, but hand flexing them right now, the 191s really arent that stiff. My 191 Wrens are significantly stiffer than the Katanas. I have had multiple pairs of 191 Katanas too, they all were this soft.
