What size ski boots do you wear? Poll
More of a curiosity thing than anything. My theory is that the most common boot size is 27/27.5/315 mm.
Vote in the poll for your size of boots.
__________
I wear 25/25.5/295 mm.

half the people in the world are women and they mostly got smaller feet ,under 25 is usually a womens boot ,there are probably not many women here but that would have been a relevant thing to ask ... but still an interesting poll

Worrying about average foot size?

25 for me,
other variables are that most people/stores oversize there boots by 1-2 sizes.
our stores size curves are usually 23 and 24 are the mid sizes in ladies (22,23,24,25) and mens are 26 (24,25,26,27,28, few 29's)

I'm 5'7, 155# I wear a size 9 or 9.5 street shoe, and am currently in a 24.5 284 bsl boot. I am a strong believer that without proper fitting most people will end up in a ski boot that is too big for them. I think 24.5 translates to roughly a 6.5 or 7 in mens shoe sizing? that's 2-3 full sizes smaller than my street shoes! It's amazing what a footbed, a custom moldable liner, and a little blowing-out of a shell can do!!

I used to be in a 26, couldn't take the pain, broke down and got a 27.
26 boot with a size 11 shoe = ouch.

Based on boot sales I've done, I'd agree with your theory.
On a side note, my Rossi b-squad carbons weren't sized by mondo, they just say 7.5. BSL is 300, which i would generally put right between a 25 and 26. I think they're more like a 25 though.

I did the 25.5 boots last season tried it with my foot beds and with out them and with intuition liners. I lost 3 toe nails Im going back to my 26's this season. Street shoe is a 9 1/2 and a10 1/2 for running. I will agree from the years working at Levelnine that most the boots we sale are 26 to 27.5. I think some people can fit into smaller boots and others can't. Im getting Head Raptor super shape's this year and all I can say is its a wide 98mm last tight fit in the heal and a wider toe box 303mm length.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.

Size 12 or 11.5 street shoe, 27(315) Dobermann boot. It's tight but I find that you have more pain and lose more toe nails going larger.

27 no secret that it is the most common men's size, boot and shoes.
It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy

It seems that it should be mentioned that mondo size, or regular shoe size are not uniformly proportional to bsl, even within manufacturer. My Raichle F1s are 29s with a 335 bsl, and my Raichle Flexons are also 29s but have a 326 bsl, so bsl is specific to boot model rather than the size one wears.
I also wonder at the tendency for people to ski in painfully tight boots. I find that if my boots are really cranked down, I don't ski as well as I do when they are snug but comfortable. I see the need for supertight boots to be a compensation for a lack of balance. A good fitting boot doesn't need to hurt; it should just have a uniform pressure on the whole of your foot, and if it does, it won't compromise your circulation to the extent it causes pain or necessitates unbluckling for every lift ride.
BTW my shoes size is 11 and I have size 12 Intuitions in my F1 shells. I can't imagine cramming my foot into a smaller shell, I suppose I'm just not a proper masochist.I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. -אלוהים אדירים
