I’ve got some 204cm American Beauties in the wrapper that I’m going to mount and shred this Winter… unless someone wants to give me $11,037 for them.

Listened to this show while out on a hike today. I found it to be perfect for us tapeheads who have listened to lots of shows with some warts and all. Bobby is particularly high, forgetful (Jack Straw), and into it (Estimated)…really having fun! Rolling Stones “Satisfaction” encore after one of my favorite 2nd set setlists. Those songs go so well together in my mind.
Matrix with some AUD patches of the SBD.

I love that era. About to wrap up my 85-90 listening project and then take the time machine back to Jan 78 and go thru 84

The problem with *most* ‘81- ‘84 boards is the audio is so compressed, it just SUCKS. There is no real bass under maybe 100 hz (just guessing), and the high end is tinny and hissy. I don’t know what was going on with Healy, but it really is a lost generation of high quality recordings. And Jerry was really showing the smack effect 82-84.
After the astonishing sound quality of Dead Set and Reckoning, it is really perplexing.

Didn’t make it down for that show, I was however, able to catch the following two nights in Richmond, followed by the two at the Centrum. 1985 is my favorite year. I went to ten shows that year.

I got a copy of this show on a few Maxell XLII 90s back in high school and damn near wore out the tape. A real classic.

The sound quality sucks but so does Jerry's singing, which is such a huge bummer that those years are basically unlistenable for me. I am pretty convinced that the only people who really like and listen to a lot of 82-85 shows are people who have attendance bias.
For people like me who were too young to see Jerry, I just can't see choosing to listen to those years when basically every show from the 70s is at my fingertips (I also appreciate and listen to 89-90).

That’s just stupid, Jerry was a way better guitar player in 84-85 than he was in 89-90.

If you perceive that Jerry was a better player after the summer of ‘86, your ears are broken!
