I saw The Clash at the Cape Cod Coliseum in the summer of ‘82, what a killer show that was. Can’t imagine how fun seeing tGD there would have been, small venue, huge parking area, good times were certainly had

As an aside and not to shill but…

My kid turned me on to the app Musi. It’s free (yes there are some ads, but not too intrusive and never cuts in on the music) which lets you search YouTube to stream things from your phone. Save a show to your library, start playing, and then the app can be run in the background. I’ve found it very useful for listening to Dead shows from folks like Wall of Sound, OkieDeadhead, Christopher Hazard, LostMyDayJob, theseventyseven77 which are some of my favorites for getting quality live shows to stream to my wireless earbuds.

I also have a Nugs.net subscription and they just added a bunch of Dead shows including most Dick’s Picks FYI.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled weekend.

OT, but CCC was the venue of my first show ever, Lynyrd Skynyrd 1976-08-27

Topless girls playing volleyball in the parking lot, Kingfish was the opening act. Stoked!

If a guy wanted to put together a downloadable playlist of sorts featuring only shows he saw (80's through DoJ), where would he do this? Nugs? Should kept all those tapes.

Admittedly been years since I did anything outside of Spotify or YouTube or the Grateful Dead channel on Sirius.

I’m a fan of Relisten app. A bit wonky at times but download shows locally and it works just fine. It’s got everything from archive org.

Oh, and Charlie Miller is a national treasure.

Saw DSO at Wellmont last night - I know Phil and Bobby are still out there god bless em for keeping the ball in the air - but for my money DSO is the sweet spot - They do it just right -

Would love to catch DSO again. Saw them about 15-20 years ago and they were fantastic. A '77 show would be a gem!

Had this come on at the end of the 7/8/78 Redrocks show I listened to on my hike today. I was howling through the woods like a Kook… Felt great!

(Warning: Contains Bobby playing slide, which is a dog whistle for some. I personally love it!)

The boys deciding who get to use the poles up at Squaw. Note that Billy was an early adopter of park rat style in his over-sized T. Mickey’s fur toque should keep him plenty warm.
