No surprise to see you post this. Such a sleeper show and one of the best AUD tapes I ever had. The Peggy-O and Althea are both top tier and then the Stella!

I remember reading how Townshend was the one that was able to score Persian for Garcia on this European tour, which is why he was around.

Been listening to this wonderful sounding source all day. Popping with energy.

My 21 year old self could barely comprehend what was happening on stage when Branford came out that night. I’m so glad that it was well documented. I missed the Ontario shows (Mrs P didn’t have exams and saw those shows too) but that was a hell of a tour.

Someone in this thread or another was saying how the Dead were not political. For the most part they were not outwardly political, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to read between the lines with them over the years.

This vid just popped into my feed. Go to the 2:45 mark and you'll see what Bobby thinks of Trump.

Caught some of this one on the GD channel this evening.

    [archiveorg gd1989-04-15.sbd.walker-scotton.miller.82405.sbeok.flac16 width=640 height=140 frameborder=0 webkitallowfullscreen=true mozallowfullscreen=true]

This one was a hoot. This night and the following got the city’s brass all fired up. The streets were a mess which sucked but it was party. Worth a spin if you haven’t heard.

Hmmm…I guess I suck at the internet and can’t figure out copy and paste from the ReListen app. Look it up. I think you guys will be pleased.

I definitely regret bailing on heading to Oxford after Rochester in ‘88.

I went to SPAC and Oxford that summer. We camped by the little airstrip outside of the racetrack. It was a party. I was under one of the massive delay towers during that insane Jack Straw, never heard bigger bass bombs than that. Phil was possessed!

In retrospect, I'm not proud that I got into SPAC during a gate rush in the back of the lawn but it is a funny short story to tell.

On another note - Tucker Carlson interviewing Phil Lesh several years back: https://www.wpafilmlibrary.com/videos/165411

The show opening The Music Never Stopped from 5/26/77 could be the best ever version for me

This just popped up on my feed, it’s outstanding. Newly remastered. Heavy Phil mix, just the way I like it!
