    World Heli Challenge - 2009

The 2009 World Heli Challenge is underway!

    Official Website: http://www.worldhelichallenge.com/whc09/default.cfm

Here is a breakdown of the event....
Big Mountain Day: "Tests the athletes skills on steep and radical terrain. Points are awarded to the person who maintains control and fluidity whilst "flashing" it, not for just the judges and media crew, but their peers who gape from the course below."

Freeride Day: "Tests the aerial skills of an athlete performed on undulating terrain with plenty of wind lips, rollovers and jumps. Basically the same as a resort terrain park, but our course is mother natures finest, held in powder and accessed by helicopter."

VnC Downhill: "Here the speed specialists come into play. Who can hold it in their tuck the longest? Who's thighs can handle the most pressure? This all event is a mass start, a combination of skier cross / boarder cross, but a lot faster."

    Should be a cool event!

I will be posting some web clips of the action that can be found at UnofficialSquaw

I competed in 2002 and helped with the setup. Great event, would love to do it again. Tony Harrington is a good dude and make sure that everyone enjoys themselves.

Kick-Ass Blasters Tim Dutton and Ralph Backstrom headed up for a few days of skiing and riding with our Unofficial friend Chris Booth. Here are some clips from two super fun days at Treble Cone and Cardrona, New Zealand.

Still waiting on the winds to die down so we can get up in the helicopters.

Hard to imagine them not, especially Jacky, Ingrid and Janina... just hard to tell sometimes. Was it just 3 ladies? Wondering about the chinese DH footy, since theres only 2 heats. Just assuming it was both mens ski and snowboard.

    Hey everyone,

just wrapped up the worldhelichallenge. It was a kickass event, with hands down the sickest bigmt venue/conditions...ever. all the athletes rocked it, throwing massive airs in BM and crazy tricks on the freeride day. The downhill was super fun too, 18 skiers maching down the hill towards the finish, awesome! Along with that we were jetboating, skydiving, rafting, bungeejumping, slacklining, and a dreamy/nightmarish place called puzzleworld.

i made a edit from the trip and footy i got from my pov cam. checkit out here...

big thanks to everyone involved, seeya next year!
