Gave this a try. $20 for a flat of 12oz. Not bad at all. Brewed by Hopfen Und Malz Brewing Co, San Jose CA. Never heard of it.

Citra hops obviously plus Cascade and Lemmon drop. 4.9%, 41 IBU. Would buy again.

Seems the company is actually Gordon Biersch (at least in the West).

FWIW, I really enjoy Gigantic. I have yet to drink anything from them that isn't good or very good.

I dig their label artwork, too.

Their artwork is good, for sure, but for some reason that I can't put my finger on anymore, I've been disappointed by them a few times. I've never been to their taproom or had any of their beers south of Seattle, so maybe it was a distance/warm storage issue?

They've got pretty limited distribution up here, but I'll see if I can't find a bottle to change my mind.

I've never tried Kirkland beer, but I can tell you a store brand to avoid: the Boatswain's DIPA from Trader Joe's. My wife got my a few random singles a while ago at TJ's and this one is best used for slug bait.

As to the budget IPA topic, I often see 15 packs (18?) of Founders All Day IPA. It's decent enough that I buy it once in a while. My local shop also sells 19oz cans of it 2 for $4.

I think there was a reason we were supposed to boycott Founder's a while back. When UT first upped the grocery store alcohol % a few years ago the 15 packs first showed up and were my go to for a bit.

I also cannot confirm or deny that I have a dog named Oskar Blue. Haven't drank too much Dale's in a while though. Maybe I should change that.

This one was WAAAAY past its essential drinkability date (it was canned 08/03/20, then it sat in a co-worker's locker for a month before he gave it to me, which was just last week), yet despite having a slight window cleaner aftertaste, I could tell it probably woulda been great had I drank it back in in August 2020...

Ha. My son brought 2 random TJ's store brand beers home. I think that was one. Both were undrinkable.

Great Notion has some serious juice-like IPAs. Wouldn't say I would drink them all the time but dang they go down easy on a warm evening.

they are definitely tough to blanket but ya, i’m usually one and done or things go sideways for my stomach or head. mouthfeel is generally on point, tough to stay away
