I'd be lying if I said I never skipped the last couple runs of a ski day when the idea of beer pops into my head.

Only amateurs drink 8%ers early in the day. PBR pounders and 5% pilsners are prime day drinking beers.

Yeah, it's not the overpriced lift ticket for marginal conditions with a bunch of kooks.

Bridgeport is the latest of the independents to close. Had one last night for nostalgia and will probably pick up a case before all the stock sells off the shelves. Great bottle conditioned IPA and probably one of the reasons the style took off in the PNW. Only 5.5% for the regular IPA and the original flagship Blue Heron Pale was way lighter than that. I have to think that the high gravity high ABV imperial IPA craze is kinda what killed them. They were late to the game and while kingpin and hopczar etc were ok they never really had a winner in the over the top IPA catagory.

Sorry to hear about Bridgeport as they were one of the few easily available micros back in the early 90s in Seattle.

    This.

Man have they put out a bunch of irrelevant beers in the past 5+ years. I guess I’m not surprised

On a recent afternoon outside the Teddy Hopper factory in Stowe, a constant flow of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey license-plated SUVs streamed in and out.

“I’m on vacation. It’s go time,” commented Joey Rentalman of Yonkers, NY who had tentative plans to ski a half day that afternoon. “We’ll see how I feel after we get settled at our condo.”

Weldworks Juicy Bits. Regular version. I think the DDH version is a bit better, but this is an excellent hazy IPA. If you find it, buy it. Click image for larger version.

We had a spirited debate about which is better but the consensus was Side Business had the edge.

    You from The Bay Area/NorCal?

I've only been able to score Henhouse when I visit my folks in Napa.

I've had their "Chemtrails" IPA and it's super tasty.
They also have a pretty adamant "28 days" from canning drink date on their cans.
That's the rule I abide by as much as possible with pretty much every craft beer I purchase. I am a Born-On-Date nazi.
Still need to get to the brewery, though.

^^Uncanny Valley is an easy top 10 beer for me. Perfect example of a hazy, hoppy single IPA.

Turned down Stainless Forest to give this one a go.

It’s lemony tart and has a bunch of floaters.

Jackstraw. Saw those Brewing Projekt IPA’s at my local Total Wine. I asked a guy to recommend some hazy IPA’s and he brought me straight to them. I’ll be buying some, but any initial beta on each?
