1-2 Punch Peach & Mango Hazy IPA
Crooked Lane Brewing, Auburn CA + collab with Flatland Brewing Company, Elk Grove, CA
ABV: 6.5%
Hops: Citra, Amarillo, Mandarina Bavaria
IBU: ?
BOD: ?
Drink Date: 4/30/19
Aroma upon cracking the can was your typical generic citrus smell that accompanies most of the NE-styled hazy IPAs I've had to date.
First pull was much hoppier and thus bitterer than I expected, but not overwhelmingly bitter.
Upon letting the beer sit for 10-minutes the aroma changed to exhibit the promised peach and mango and the taste became a bit more fruit-forward, but still with a satisfying hoppy finish.
Drank it at lunch, which consisted of cheese tortellini with home-made beet-and-carrot infused marinara sauce (heavy on the garlic and crushed red peppers, too). It provided a nice compliment to the spicy pasta.

Playa Dust Dusty IPA
Imbib Custom Brews, Reno, NV
ABV: 6.3%
Hops: ?
IBU: ?
BOD: 2/15/19
Drink Date: 4/30/19
Ripe apricot aroma and hints of that fruit and persimmon on initial taste. Well-rounded hop finish. Hazy, but more of a Nevada take on the style (they actually dub it a "Dusty IPA" on the can). Like another Reno based brewery, 10Torr, Imbib goes for a bit more hop bite than the "traditional" hazy, which I dig.
FWIW, this is the second Burning Man inspired beer to come out of Reno (Revision has their Playafication, which I have yet to try).

No Hands West Coast IPA
Crooked Lane Brewing Company, Auburn, CA

Drink Date: 5/1/19 (purchased at the brewery on 4/27/19)
Aroma is woodsy, not pine, but something stronger/heavier like mahogany or oak. Initial taste is crisp and sharp with a bracing bitterness that is clean on the mouth and eventually mellows out. This is a classic, hoppy "clear" IPA.

Funny, the collective arts “ brewery” is in Ontario, we get cans from Stratford, CT ( two roads ) and a place in PA often, never seen Wisconsin life in the clouds

This one is an OG Moonraker brew...might be one of their first cannings dating back to when they first opened, I'm not sure, though. It is what I would call one of their "flagship" offerings, though.
Yojo IPA
Moonraker Brewing, Auburn, CA
ABV: 7.0%
Hops: Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, CTZ
IBU: 50 (but it doesn't taste like it)
BOD: 4/24/19
Drink date: 5/6/19
A bit stringent and more on the grapefruit rind end of the citrus scale.
I actually prefer their off-shoot: Yojo 33 1/3 (now called Y33) over this, but the original is solid if you like your hazy IPAs to be a bit thin in terms of juicy mouthfeel and sharp in terms of the fruit flavors.
Definitely goes down better when accompanied by spicy food.

I've seen one around recently called Mind Haze which is pretty good. Although there's too much citrus in everything these days.

30 years-and-some-change ago when I was in college, Sierra Nevada was the shit. Them, Anchor Steam, Red Tail, Red Nector, and Red Hook (before Budweiser co-opted them), Acme, and Full Sail were pretty much the bees knees in terms of the "craft" beer you could score with ease (i.e. in bottles). If you were lucky to make the trek to the Bay Area then you could score Gordon Biersch, Marin Brewing, and a few others that had brewpubs.
Over the past several years I have virtually been unable to drink Sierra Nevada. Their Pale Ale, once a hallmark of craft beer, tastes thin and chemically to me now. Their attempt at a haze is hollow and unsatisfying to me. And, imho, like Lagunitas, Firestone/Walker (and other BIG "craft" breweries), they seem to be saturating the market with way too many beer styles that just end up tasting meh.
Recently, my brother was in town from NYC and my parents had stocked up on beer for his visit (my folks are wine drinkers, so they don't know much about beer). They bought some Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPAs (they know SN because my uncle was an architect and designed the original brewery back in the day). Of course my brother, upon arriving, informs everybody that he no longer drinks. So, my folks were left with a fridge full of beers that nobody wanted. I took 'em thinking I'd pawn them off on some folks with unrefined palates or give 'em away to some homeless folks.
Surprise, surprise!
I actually dig this beer.
It's hoppy in that "traditional" West Coast, hella piney stylee.
It's a nice contrast to all the hazes that I usually imbibe.
And it went down rather nicely as the liquid accompaniement to a homemade hummus and cilantro/kale/asparagus pesto slathered veggie burger after a morning of spring skiing at Squaw.
I would call this a solid standby/old standard IPA.

SNPA is still solid and holds up. Not in this thread, but it’s a classic.

Yeah, Torpedo is still very good. Not really new, I think it has been around since the early 2010's. Problem is, people's pallets have changed. Pale ales like SNPA just taste malty and the bitterness is derived from high alpha cascade and chinook hops, which few brewers even use in IPAs anymore. I brew a nice pale ale that used to be my favorite beer, but now I can barely drink it, and that kinda bums me out.
I've started limiting myself to one NEIPA per drinking session before switching back to a nice pils, WC IPA, Session IPA, or whiskey etc. The NEIPAs just blow out your pallet and if you switch to a different NEIPA (That probably cost you $5+) you really aren't going to taste anything different because your pallet is spackled with hop oils and polyphenols.
