The only beer I've ever had from Hopworks is their Pig War White IPA, which was excellent. Not sure if they still brew and can it, though. And I scored that in Bend, OR 4 years ago. Never seen their beer here in Tahoe or The Bay Area, though.

Pig war was delicious a long time ago. Haven't had it in years but the backstory is awesome.

So, I went camping and skiing over Labor Day.
I did not stock up on brews before I left Truckee, so I was at the mercy of the Raley's in Gardnerville, NV (the last decent pit stop for food/supplies before where I went skiing/camping).
The only decent (and not terribly old in regards to BOD) brews they had were these, which were actually pretty damn tasty at 10,000 feet and after a day of schussing shallow suncups.

    WEEKEND VIBES IPA
Coronado Brewing Co., Coronado, CA (San Diego region)
    ABV: 6.8%
    Hops: Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe
    IBU: ?
    BOD: 7/22/19

This is one of the few IPAs I can recall having that is brewed with the triumverate of hops favored by hazy IPA brewers, but it was a West Coast styled (or as the can states a "San Diego-style IPA").
Full-bodied, juicy up front, but with a nice, clean hop finish.
I bought the 6-pack on Saturday night, August 31st, and had my first one around 10pm after I set up camp. It was a little heavy for a bedtime beer.
Had my second one on Sunday, September 1st, after a day of skiing a snowfield and a glacier. It was super tasty as an apres beverage.
Had my third Sunday night after dinner and sitting around the campfire with some compadres. Super tasty and refreshing after a smoked trout/tomato/fontina sandwich.
Polished off the rest of the 6er when I got back to Truckee after 2 days of schussing Dunderberg Peak/Kavanaugh Ridge.
Again, this is a good, clean, no-nonsense West Coast-style IPA that I would purchase again.

some damn good IPA's out there

This shit out of Reno is ridiculous. Everything I’ve had from Revision has been killer. Rumor has it, head brewer is formerly of Knee Deep in Auburn who have made their mark on the IPA scene over the years.

First post in this thread. Not sure how I've gone this long without ever opening it up. Went to the east coast a couple weeks ago, and hit up a few breweries along the way. Currently enjoying the newly re-released Bissell Brothers TIPA and loving it!

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

    New California IPA
Karl Strauss Brewing Company + Russian River Brewing Company, SoCal/NorCal collabo
    ABV: 6.5%
Hops: Palita, Strata, Ekuanot, Amarillo, Idaho 7
    BOD: ?
    Enjoy By Date: 10/22/19
    Drink Date: 9/26/19

I not yet had a bum beer from either of these breweries, so snagging a can of this collab was a no-brainer. I only wish I'd snagged more as when I went back to the market a week later the entire stash was depleted!
Clean, crisp, and with a solid and rounded bitter finish. Definitely mellower and richer than Aurora Hoppyalis or Blind Pig.
This is a top tier West Coast IPA for sure.

Electro Hazy IPA [Beer #98 in the endless series of limited edition artist and artisan beers. Artwork by Cole Gerst/Option-G (https://www.option-g.com/)]
Gigantic Brewing Company, Portland, OR + Parallel 49, Vancouver, BC collab
    ABV: 7.5%
    Hops: Lotus, Crystal, Citra
    IBU: ?
    BOD: ?
Enjoy By Date: "Not As Awesome After 02/22/20"
    Drink Date: 9/27/19

While my experience with Portand based breweries is limited (I have thus far only had beers from Gigantic and Breakside), every beer I have had has been solid-to-stellar. If I see beers by either of these breweries on a shelf, I snatch 'em up quick. This was a super tasty hazy, with a nice, subtle fruit forward taste followed by an even and moderate bitterness. Unlike a lot of hazes, it wasn't overly yeasty or "sweet" or "thick", just what I would call a nice PNW interpreation of a hazy IPA.

Colorado has been getting a ton of GABF can drops at the local shops with beer that we only typically only see once a year.

Just scored one of my favorite West Coast DIPAs - Topping Goliath King Sue. EXCEPT it's now a hazy and really not that great (more heat than expected for the abv). Damn! Bummed they ruined such a great beer.

Just pulled a soft sided yeti in a suitcase through baggage claim from the east coast, transporting a little over a case of mixed Treehouse back to CO. Got some Summer, but no Autumn. If you've had Summer, how to they compare? Spring and Summer were both quite well done, IMO.

Tighten Up Citrus IPA [Beer #93 in the endless series of limited edition artist and artisan beers. Artwork by Ben Walker (https://benwalkerart.com/)]
Gigantic Brewing Co, Portland, OR (https://www.giganticbrewing.com/)
    ABV: 6.2%
    Hops: Citra and Cascade
    IBU: ?
    Additions: Tangerine and Pineapple fruit
Enjoy By Date: ? (date was smudged on the neck of the bottle)
    Drink Date: 9/28/19

I grabbed this bottle off the shelf at the market without reading the fine print. Needless to say, I was a bit apprehensive when I got home and saw that it was a fruit-infused IPA as I am not a fan (usually) of fruit injected beers of any kind. I was pleasantly surprised and Gigantic continues to be one of the most consistently solid breweries I've come across in the past few years. The tangerine and pineapple notes are mostly relegated to aroma and an ever-so-slight initial mouth taste. But thankfully any over-powering fruitiness is waylaid by a nice, medium bitterness at the finish.

If the beer doesn't get you buzzed then staring at the can will at least make you think you're buzzed.

    Jambi IPA
Mason Aleworks, San Diego County, CA
    ABV: 6.7%
Grains: 2 Row Veinna Caramalt, Acidulated Malt, Dextrin Malt
Hops: Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic
    IBU: ?
    BOD: ?
    Purchase Date: 11/1/19
    Drink Date: 11/1/19

A nice, hoppy West Coast IPA. A little bummed that they don't bother to stamp a BOD on the can or include the IBU, but I'm guessing that it's in the 40-60 range.
The can extolls "Aromas of Citrus and Pine" and "Flavors of Lemon, Grapefruit, Aggressive Hoppiness". It definitely has that bitter lemon/grapefruit rind taste in terms of initial mouth feel, then it blends into a nice hoppy finish. A clean, robust WC-styled IPA for sure.

Murk of the Beast. Pure Brewing out of San Diego. Hazy. Really interesting. Fantastic flavor and mouthfeel, but almost no sweetness. 6.66 abv. Not sure how they got essentially all the sugars to ferment out. Find it and try it. Love to know what others think. I liked it quite a bit.
