I've got an idea for future contests.... how about along with each picture submitted, the photog also lists the relevant EXIF data (camera, lens, focal length, aperture, exposure)? It would add a little bit to the contest and might help out some of the (me included) aspiring photogs on the board.

I like the idea smmokan, and have no problem doing so.

    Canon 20d
    50mm mkII f1.8
    100 iso
    f22
    20sec
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Great shot Lonnie! I want to have beers with those 3 guys, I would imagine they have some good stories to tell.

Doc, as always you have amazing color. Technically the shot is great, composition is good, but I wish there was more going on in the frame. Its a good shot though.

Lonnie- Cool moment, but I cant tell if the photo is a crop out of a bigger image, or just really pixelated.

Bummed not to see work from Tap and Out to Lunch.

It is. It's REALLY, really cropped (lol). After the contest is over, I'll post the original shot (Thank god for extra megapixles! ) I THINK, and I'll have to check the exif info to be sure, I think it was @16mm. Where is my 200MM 2.8?? lol!

Among other things, I also added "film grain" post processing to make it grainy. I wanted it to have an even older look, softer look. So I'm sure you are seening that as well.

I liked a lot of the shots submitted, and with the strength of those as a whole, I am just thrilled to be in the voting. To me just the fact that someone out there digs it is good enough for me.

I agree, it needs more bacon, metaphorically speaking.

I think the other shot I submitted was better, and had more depth of character, but as it was just a shot of the crowd, I can see why this one was selected.

    30 seconds,
    f.18,
    iso 200
    with a Tamron 11-18mm, @ 11mm,

Thanks everyone that voted. There was some strong work presented, so strong, that I didn't think I had a chance at this. I guess I have temporary bragging right.

Lonnie, I'm still curious to see the full size of your picture.

    DJ Sapp,

Here is the original, and a version that I thought about using.

The band is the SLC postal carriers band, composed of all mail carriers from the SL valley. These pics were taken before the pioneer day parade in Salt Lake City.
