i get so confused up there, since everybody calls each chunk of snow "The Patches".

there's like 3 patches, the middle of which i was led to believe was "The Patch" then there's the other patch around the bend (heretofore dubbed "The OG Patch") and then there's several more up the winding road.

so which of all of those is "The Patch" or is there really no singular patch and just "The Patches" or does it really matter?

all i know is that in June there was a "park" set up where PD took his girls last weekend, but that the "park" had been moved around the bend when i returned a month later in July.

The one with the rails setup is the original Patch. It holds snow the longest and hence the Patch. It holds snow because its in a protected northern facing ravine, so the snow can really build up in there. The latest I've skied it, was probably Sept 99' if you don't count the ridiculous year of 1995 where the Forestdale road was still blocked by snow at the end of August.

I remember skinning past that clump of trees just a few months ago. In a blizzard. Looks a bit different in the glory of flowers.

Gonna be up that way tomorrow. Plan to bike a bit around KW. Might drag the Mrs. out on a hike. My skis are in the car.

I skied below that area at the end of June in a combined hail/thunderstorm.
Give me a call if you want to make some turns tomorrow or Sunday.
I'm considering exploring the east bowl patches above Winnemucca Lake in the background of the picture of Dookey.

Guermo and Dookey67, thanks, the enthusiasm can be infectious, contagious, and habit-forming.

After skiing the U-God Patch we got checked out by this Magnum Force Marmot:

He might have been trying to warn us about the upcoming Masta Killa's Chambers of Death Patch.

    Ninth of Nine

    (Like Daniel-San)
Drunken Monkey Dookey does the Masta Killa Kata:

He even broke through the glacial ice too!

Drunken Monkey Dookey utilizes his Shaolin Ski Jab on the Masta Killa's Hidden Chambers of Death:

Wu-Tang Style can't f@#k with Fighting Crane Style, the necessary technique needed to survive Masta Killa's Hidden Chambers of Death.

Finally, the final chapter has arrived.
This was by far one of the best patch skiing days ever.

    There is more to come...
After I finish sorting through pictures from mine and Dookey's cameras I'll post a TR from this Monday at Emigrant Lake.
