Daywalker has nothing better to do, 10/2-10/4 (could leave late Thursday if any denver mags want to pull it off). Can haul 2-3 with me. Can also pick up beer for some Utah mags, depending on the space in the car and the quality of their enchiladas.

All I need is a (relatively flat) spot to park the truck and I'm square for camping for me and the lady if she comes. I'll be down afterneveningish friday, can't leave sooner. Depending on peeps schedules I may have room for two or three more from SLC.

I called about getting a group site up at Sand Flats and it sounds like a no go. There are only two groups spots. The good one is already taken and the other one is really shitty. So looks like we'll have to do individual spots. I've haven't camped up there very much so maybe someone with more experience can recommend somewhere to try to get spots. It would be cool if we weren't too spread out.
As far as the shuttle goes, I'm thinking it would be a good idea to reserve one van shuttle, and then if there is overflow we can take individual cars. Make sense? Objections?

I am confirming I will be there, bringing a non-maggot along. I will be leaving SLC between 3-5pm and would have room for 1 or 2 more. Which of the Sand Flats A thru H campgrounds will we be shooting for, or is there another area (like Goose Island or Big Bend) that might have a group site available? The Goose Island location would be pretty convenient, but I don't know what the quality is.

It's a few miles out, but Ken's Lake has nice campsites...better than Sand Flats and Cane Creek IMHO.

OK, I called about the Goose Island group site and it is available. That's right at the bottom of the ride for those who aren't familiar, so it's a pretty convenient location. The site has a twenty person minimum, but I think that just means that you have to pay for twenty people, I don't think they come and count how many people are sleeping there It's $2.50/person plus a $10 reservation fee, so it would be $110 for me to reserve it for friday and saturday night. If this sounds like it would work, let me know ASAP because it probably will get booked up soon. I'd like a commitment to split the cost from at least a few people so I don't get stuck footing the whole bill if people end up canceling for whatever reason (eg weather).

I reserved the site at Goose Island. I just paid the $10 reservation fee, and we have to pay the actual camp fee by two weeks in advance. So we'll try to get a final head-count by then.
Oh yeah, and the shuttle will run $20/person and can take up to 14 or 15 people.

OK, time for an official headcount for campsite and for shuttle. I'm asking for $10/person for the two nights for the campsite. (yes, that's more than it actually costs, but i want to cover costs if we end up with fewer people and any extra money will be spent on beer for Saturday night, I promise) Shuttle is $20/person. If we end up with a few more than 14 people, a few people can shuttle themselves. If we end up near 28, we'll get two shuttles. So please copy and paste this list, add yourself (and any people coming with you), and edit the total. I'm doing separate lists for camping and shuttle because some people might want to shuttle themselves or camp somewhere else or whatever.

Does this shuttle go to the top of Hazard or is it one that goes to the better access to this ride? My friends were telling me they have only shuttled the ride themselves becuase the hazard one requires a lot more uphill.
