TR: night kayaking and manky falls
With the state covered in dust, no corn to be found and Bear Creek running, it was time to christen the kayak.
Colorado Surfer on line.
Colorado Surfer off line. The low water made getting on line a challenge.
Same slide, different angle.
The main falls. This was my third paddle stroke of the year. The previous two were in the eddy above.
Blurred.
Colorado Surfer running the section above the falls.
When it gets dark, you can go home or continue the fun. With no external flash, it's tough to get the focus right. I would love to experiment with night shots if anyone has the time and equipment. We have a couple bigger, easy access falls picked out.
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.
People who don't think the Earth is flat haven't skied Vail.

Ha, early May in Colorado, bangin' down a manky 100cfs ...I can smell the desperation in the air.
Bear Creek above 300 is the the shit.
Cool to see you got a creek boat Blurred, Gore Canyon is right in your backyard and a good stepping stone to harder runs. Keep at it.

Dam, wish that thing would get over 300 but when your thirsty your thirsty. Cool to see somethin other than the usual pics from there. And I'm with root once again on his gear preferences....elbow pads are a good thing.

Honorary SE boaters right there! That's the kind of shit we do when it hasn't rained in about a month...er...uhh..I mean that's what we do all summer.
I thought you CO paddlers were big water snobs?

No, CO boaters are mank snobs. That is, if it ain't manky they aren't having a good time.

Blurred, nice forward body position in those shots with the next stroke ready to go. Really no reason to ever be leaning back, just like on skis. Get the body position right on the little stuff so it's natural on the big stuff.
