Media mags:How to convert video/dvd files to Youtube format

So I have no specific software ie: final cut and the like. I have a short in some DVD format: VOB formats and BUP and I want to get it on youtube. Is there an online program or freeware I can use to convert it to a mpeg2 or 4 or something else. I never have the correct codecs to do this.

Does anyone know how I, as a puter know-nothing, do this easily?

    Handbrake...........
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

I used Quick time to edit a quick clip. Selectors on the bottom, cut and paste.
Do you have QT for PC? might work.

Its not a small file. How can I clip this thing for free by myself?

I tried AVS free version but it watermarks the video. Just need to clip out the first minuet.

MaximumPC mag had an artical on downloading, saving and converting flash videos and
converting to dvd or any other type of video file. ALL FREE.
Moyea FLV downloader,www.flvsoft.com and SUPER, (www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html#dnload)
Finally a way to save pc porn to dvd's or Ipods or cellphones.
I'm saving my fav vids to make custom dvd's.
Good Luck I hope these work for you.
