Super Sick Early or Late Season? Preference?

Okay, this is kind of an off shoot of previous posting, but I wanted to get everyone's feelings on this one...

What is better...a super sick EARLY season--lots of snow, pow etc early in the season? (November-December) (kind of what the Lake Tahoe area experienced LAST season...or a super sick LATE season--Late APRIL snow...kind of like what hit Tahoe two seasons ago when we were all skiing tons of POW late in April! I know --I know...OBVIOUSLY the ideal is a season full of non-stop POW (EL NINO anyone?) , but let's be realistic here.

I prefer lots of early season snow, its generally colder, the snow is lighter, the days are shorter so storm skiing and flat light are more common. However, pow at any time is great pow, I don't care when it dumps of how, as long as I'm there to ski it.

I vote for earlier as well.

    Love storm skiing.

One more vote for early. Get the base down early and the rest is gravy.

Yup, early. Nobody's up there that early up in the season, and it's just good for the resorts in general if there's tons of snow early, it gets all the gapers thinking about going on vacation early.

If a normal snow year is a given and I had to choose one or the other, I'll vote for late season. I'm more relaxed and can ski closer to my limits in late season because....

I know there's a ten foot base between the latest dump and stumps, rocks and fallen tree trunks.

    The base snowpack has stabilized.

My body is in condition to take full advantage of a deep day.

Most people are done with skiing for the season so fresh lines last longer and there are no liftlines.

Less of an issue with flat light conditions and increased chances of sun on the deck for brew after the lifts close.

But, It's hard to beat the stoke and feeling of promise early season snow brings. Going into this season I'll be happy for any snow that El nino lets through.

During early season I want early season dumps.

    Mid-season I want mid-season dumps.

    Late-season I want late-season dumps.

    Mid-summer I want mid-summer dumps.

    It's all relative really.
