Bump, cause I've needed 2 more people for months. The credit card offers are bullshit. 2 people have signed up through my referral and didn't get credit cause thay didn't use the cards. Fack.
BTW, a guy in my office got his a couple weeks ago, so it definitely works.

that company that runs freeipods.com has been slacking lately, very long waits for shipments, and a bunch of other crap. THeres a fairly new company, I've already received an ipod from them, but you can also get an iriver mp3 player, or a couple others, OR you can get 275 bucks paypal'd to you, or a check sent to you. heres the link for that deal

I remember trying that last fall. I signed up for a trial version of Netscape Internet and cancelled a few days later by email. Well turns out Netscape double charged my account and never cancelled either of the accounts until it drew out for another month, and I caught the problem on my bank statement and called them. Well next month I get yet another Netscape debit! I called them up again and they said, impossible! After much arguing they found the second account that was still active and finally cancelled and credited me for that.
On top of all this, my friends signed up for offers and the Gratis website never recognized them as completing it! Be careful with this as the companies that run the offers are shady and rely on people to forget to cancel or be to lazy to fix problems like I had. I spent about an hour on my phone to fix the situation and the tech support is obviously located in India because you can't understand nary a word customer support says.

I signed up and got the IPod Shuffle a couple weeks ago. I did the offer with completehome.com for $1, and on top of it all they sent me $20 in gift cards for Home Depot. Not a bad deal at all.

I also checked out the freeIPod deal some days ago. A friend of mine did it, found 5 ppl and got his 20 gig IPod. He sold it on ebay the same day for $270. So I checked it out some more and came across some things that made me hesitate.
I am taking a E-Marketing class and our teacher told us to check the URL. If the site you would type in your CC info does not start with httpS://... it is not a secure site. Means anyone with a little skill can read your information. And if I wanted to get some CC info, I would try my luck with those free stuff pages.
So, freeIpod redirects you to the offer pages and they always have the VeriSign seal, which you can trust. But the URL is something like http://www.freeipods.yaddayadda.blockbuster.blabblabla.... You are on the Blockbuster page but still on the freeipod domain or something (sorry for the unprofessional advise). I noticed that and clicked on the link under the VeriSign seal. It says there, this site is VeriSign protected, but only if the URL is https://w ww.blockbuster.com, or whatever...
So, of course you have to get redirected by freeipods so that they know where you came from and can credit you. But still, it seems to me as if freeipods and those sites make money by collecting your data and selling it.
Maybe I am wrong and I have never heard of someones credit card getting charged for stuff he did not order, but it's your decision.
Though,.... a free IPod would be sweet....Relativ geschickt schickt Bo schicke Grüße an die Schickeria - ihr habt auch SCHICKE SCHIA!
BOOYAKASHAAA!!!
