The Killers Day & Age
Ok I didn't scan all the threads here but I did do a search and it produced nothing regarding The Killers new album Day & Age. Has anyone else gone totally crazy over this album like I have?? I mean I've listened to it about 50 times and I'm not yet sick of it.
And what the hell happened at the Grammys? They weren't even nominated at all?? Have peoples' music tastes gone bad? Yea it's subjective but c'mon - it was A REALLY GREAT album!!Last edited by divegirl; 02-23-2009 at 07:13 PM.

It's a pretty good album, I haven't gone crazy for it though. The people that run the Grammy's know little about good music anyways. The same crap keeps winning over and over again so more of the same crap gets produced. Yet they wonder why CD sales slip.

I like the first album (Hot Fuss), thought the second was good (Sam's Town); I'm not liking Day&Age...maybe I'm just bored with the predictability. Day&Age kind of feels like I'm listening to Duran Duran's The Wedding Album (Ordinary World) all over again.
Feels like the Killers "new" stuff is about 5 years too late.
It's too bad cause I liked the really different sounds between their first two albums.
I'm loving MGMT and Silversun Pickups.

Hot Fuss wasn't too bad.
The next two albums have lead me to the conclusion that The Killers fucking suck."These are crazy times Mr Hatter, crazy times. Crazy like Buddha! Muwahaha!"

That's cool. So many people talk about good music vs. bad music etc...I've been guilty of it.
I don't think there's good and bad music for the most part. Just music that you like or don't like. That you connect with or don't. So much of it depends on factors outside of the music itself such as place and situation in life, emotional state, etc...
Different strokes for different folks

Bad music does exist. AutoTune and lip syncing with vocoders just try to mask it for the masses.

Totally.
Although I still don't see how it was predictable...there are definitely some different sounds & lyrics on day & age compared to their other albums. But then again I didn't analyze it fully.
fallguy - agreed. Great live band. Especially when Flowers shows up to do a number with U2 in Las Vegas. (but that's another subject)bc-lovah

I've listened to the album a few times now. I doubt I ever will again...
