I'm thinking about going to JH on Thursday but the forecast is for rain on Wednesday? Is this true? I'm not gonna head out there for snow that has been rained on

Same here, deciding between Jackson, Bozeman, and SLC for this coming weekend. One last road trip from Minnesota, any recommendations?

Leaning towards Bozeman at this point.

Any snow around right now? I am headed that way next week to see my parents and was wondering if I would be able to get some turns in any where?

Clear and cold here right now. We got a touch of the storm that is hammering Colorado right now, but they (you) have way more snow. Check the WYDOT website before you head up- last I saw I-80 and I-15 were pretty much shut down.

With this storm will they have enough to start opening more terrain? Hopefully at least the Gondi and Casper will be running. Any news on other stuff or coverage up there so far?

Anything new? I'm heading up on Jan 5th, and it's not looking too promising.

Supposed to start dumping the 4th. Which is going to screw up your travels, and leave more pow for US!!

[only forecast i've seen is thru next week, and it's not too promising. Gotta think it will break soon after that tho!] Regardless, there will be zero crowds, it will be a great time to be here...

Word from the long-timers is that this is the worst snow for first half of January for as long as anyone can remember, or maybe the worst since 1975.

Hobacks opened for a couple of days, then closed again. Tower 3 Chute was open for about 4 hours and was then considered ski-ed off and closed. Alta Chutes -- closed. Casper Bowl -- not open yet this year. Lower woods on Apres Vous -- same thing.

Anything near a South aspect is extremely solid surface.

This is Cheyenne Bowl taken from the trees down gully from the Bivouac Woods on Jan. 11:

Only one little beginners' terrain park is open, plus a couple of rails and logs scattered around Apres Vous. Half-pipe is solid and is being well maintained. It is smaller than the current competition standard, but that is fine with me. It's probably an 18fter. Current Olympic standard is 22.

That said, I'm finding loose snow in trees on all north and north-west aspects. Lot of veggie showing and way too much rock on lower half.

Hotels are reported to be at 30% occupancy. Three Tram rides yesterday were loaded with 22, 30 and around 50 people, respectively. Two rides in the 8 person gondola were solo. (Maybe I'll have to start showering more than once a month.)

Any updates on the Jackson Situation? We're going to be there next weekend and wondering if there is any snow on the horizon?
