Who has: "The ultimate euro ski map"
i've been searching online with not much luck. i can piece together a lot of resorts with google maps, but there are hundreds of little ski hills throughout europe (and I dont know most) I would like to get a big picture look at the whole scene before I try and plan an all out road trip.
who has the "ultimate ski resort map" of europe......
thanks.

Change that to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands.... You could piece together a map of the big resort, but include all the small hill gems... and that's pretty much impossible.
What for terrain are you looking for?

I've often wished for something similar. These two from CO illustrate the conceptual model.

http://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/dynamic/alps - Un-tick the Freezing level
Doesn't show roads or rail but it gives a good overview of ski station locations.
Play around with the dropdowns on the right for more/less detail_____________________________________

Give this a try... Stupid long URL so if it doesn't work search for skiinfo for Google Earth.

edit: cool, it shrinks the link but it still works

I have a sweet Freytag and Bernt road map and I spend countless hours staring at it. It has Austria, Southern Germany, Western CH and Northern Italy. There are icons that show where major lifts are so you can spot cool areas to ski. After that check out www.bergfex.at which has info and trail maps on the above mentioned countries. I am not sure why france is left out.

I do. Its called the "ADAC" ski atlas and it shows everything in the alps. Its got ticket prices, lodging numbers, Lift info like uphill capacity, top elevation and so much more. Divided into countries and regions within the countrys. As for the little hills, they are in there too. A killer resource and its updated yearly. As for finding it there is a site www.adac-skiguide.de . Its in print so google it up and you should be good. (German language only as far as I know, let me kniow if you find english as my german is nichts so gute)

The Swiss have a wonderfully detailed 1:300 000 map with lifts clearly marked (it is actually photoreduced from 1:200 000 maps).

At this website http://www.bergfex.at/oesterreich you can find pretty much what you are looking for. You can click on "activate map" in the top right of the window ("Karte einblenden" in German, I dont know if there is an English version of this website). Then you'll get a (zoomable) map where you can activate specific information (e.g. skiing areas, accomodation, selected ski tours etc.). You can also change between different cartographic representations. For Austria, one version of this map is based on the official topographic map of Austria (i.e. very detailled). There are some 370 different ski resorts listed for Austria, which means almost pretty much every ski resort in Austria (for Switzerland, France, Italy etc. this website is not so complete). You can play around with the map by varying the zoom factor and the sort of information you want to include.
Edit: the english version is at:
