I'm in late to this, Pat, but believe me when I say my arms are stretching across the pond to give you the biggest of hugs.

You most certainly did comfort her. I believe people know when their loved ones are with them, even if they can't tell you. Their soul knows you are with them and you care. I've even noticed changes in peoples vital signs in the ICU when their family is at their side. I'm sure she heard and appreciated everything you said to her.

I'm sorry to hear of these tough times for you.

Pat I don't know you personally but you've always been helpful to me on the board and a few times on the phone so I'd like to consider you a friend. I can't begin to sympathize with what you've been through but the mere thought of something happening to my wife makes me well up. My bet is you've earned a renewed perpective on life and and the very least you've shared a greater appreciation for it with us.

Good vibes and best wishes for better times...they're on the way.

Hey, clarnitty and everyone who has offered so much support - please let me say thank you again. You all are truly kind souls. I still mourn Joyce leaving this world on such short notice, but feel really refreshed by the experience we both had during her last moments. I know she heard every word I had to say and it was all really beautiful. I've been going through old photos and stuff and found this, just to show how long we've been hanging around with each other. This pic tells it's own story...

Sorry to hear about your loss Pat. Looks like you've been friends for quite a while. Sure must be hard loosing someone that you have known that long.
