    So Damn Sick...

    of being so fucking sick. UGH!



    WWMD for deep bronchial coughs that produce foamy phlegm, and make my chest hurt?

    Been steaming my head every hour or so - helps. Thank goodness for Canada - Cough Syrup with CODEINE helps me sleep... any other good tips for me?

    Stop smoking (if you smoke.) You'd be surprised how many people don't think of this. Just chew Nicotine gum for a while.

    Take Mucinex - it works.

    Drink lots of fluids - I like purple GatorAid.

    Oh - and go to the doctor, you may have bronchitis and that stuff is easy to knock out with a Z-Pac antibiotic.

    What color is your mucus? If what you are coughing up is clear, don't bother with the doctor, because they can't do anything about it. If it has a color, they can give you antibiotics

    Onions and garlic.
    The lazy way= swallow two small cloves of garlic whole , slice onions and place on the bottom of your feet put on socks and go to bed. If you have more energy, put 1/2 of a medium onion and a few cloves of garlic in a food processor, puree with some honey and drink.

    You will be better in 6-12 hours.

    Sounds like bronchitis. Warm, humidified air is your friend. And tea with honey... or maybe some of that fine maple syrup you guys are so fond of.

    Really? I heard it was swallow a marble sized ball of wasabi and put ham in your socks. And if you have more energy down a shot of cod liver oil.

    Garlic/onion = nature's antibiotics.

    My system is to take Emerg-n-C packet everyday and wash down a garlic pill (Kwai)
    Hardley ever gotten sick in 15+ years I have been doing it.

    earl's least favorite food is onions, and he also really doesn't like garlic. maybe if i attempted this i would couch it for that one night.

    anyways i wish i got this info three weeks ago, i had a horrible hacking/cough phlegm (sp?) cold thing for about two solid weeks! despite lots of OJ and fruits and veggies it was very hard to kick.

    Garlic + Ginger + Honey + Tea (Rose Hip Hibiscus has lots of Vitamin C) = Similar results

    Ugh, I'm going on 3 solid weeks of this... think its time to try the garlic/onion treatment.

    Dude, listen to Buster...Neti all the way. Or just snort warm salt water up your beak.

    I have had chronic (pun intended) lung problems since I was a child and a nice steam with some eucalyptus loosens up the stuff.

    I also stay extremely well hydrated until my cough turns dry, at which point I kill the remains with whisky. It works.

    I third (fourth?) the garlic and onions. They work great. Also, LOTS of fluid. I'm a believer in 16oz. every hour while you are awake.
