Eggs, I love them
I am eating between 25-30 eggs a week lately (usually 4 every day). Damn I love eggs.
Is anyone else addicted to eggs?Last edited by RootSkier; 01-17-2012 at 04:28 PM.

I eat eggs on weekends, and yeah, they're the goods. I've been doing fried egg and cheese sandwiches lately, doused in hot sauce.
I don't throw away the yolks, but I break them and cook the runny right out of them. Whenever I go out to eat and order eggs over hard, I know I've gotten a good cook when they've broken the yolks. We ate at a Waffle House the other day, and even after sending the eggs back, they were still runny. Christ, how hard is it to overcook some egg yolks?Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

my quick breakfast -
spray pam in small bowl
crack egg into bowl, add splash of milk and tiny bit of water, beat
pop in microwave for 40 seconds
chop up a piece of ham (bonus: leftover bacon, also good with black beans)
slice or shred a little cheddar
when 40 seconds are up, put ham and cheddar in bowl and hit em for another 40 seconds in microwave
warm a tortilla over gas burner
spread a little cream cheese on tortilla
put egg/ham/cheese into tortilla
add hot sauce
roll into burrito
I have this down to a 4 minute exercise, including putting the stuff back in the fridge.

I eat eggs just about daily as well. My favorite quick easy ones are
2 eggs in a buttered bread sandwich with salt, pepper, and Frank's Red Hot.
Half a can of Texas Beans (or homemade chili if I have any) in a skillet, crack a few eggs over it, cook until the eggs are over medium-ish, then grate some cheese and finish off. Dump on some salsa and eat.

I used to eat three over easy eggs on an english muffin, or two eggs nuked with cheese and bacon on an english muffin as a sandwich, but now that I more or less quit eating bread on a regular basis, I usually eat four scrambled (but not dry) eggs with a little cheese and an apple. I stay full about 4x longer with the additional protein and better quality carbs.

i <3 eggs as well
i have a plastic egg carrier for backpacking - nothing beats 2 eggs dropped into the jetboil with Korean spicy noodles. I also enjoy egg stratas, breakfast burritos, omelets - basically i love breakfast, favorite meal of the day.
but i don't know about eating 25 eggs a week though - There is a history of high cholesterol in my family...

Seriously, the only people who give a fuck about cholesterol also base their dietary recommendations off the most fucked up eating idea ever: the USDA food pyramid.

Mmmmmmm Eeeeggs.
My go to pre-ski breakfast is 3 or 4 eggs, OJ, and a bowl of granola. Stays with you all morning.
Some good eggs tips:
- Cage free, farm fresh, organic, natural, and whateverthefuckelse eggs are worth the extra money. So much tasier.
- Room temperature eggs cook much better than cold ones. Put 'em in bowl and run luke warm water over them until they warm up some.
- 50/50 butter and olive in the pan works better than either one alone.
- When scrambling eggs, salt goes in the scramble. I also loves me a little parmesan in there too (Less salt need with parm).
- When frying eggs, salt goes in the pan before the eggs.
- When scrambling or frying eggs add a bunch of pepper to the butter/oil and let it cook a little before adding the eggs. Diced garlic is nice too if that's your thing.
- Most importantly, runny is right. Bagtagly is wrong.Last edited by Herr Doktor; 01-21-2009 at 02:00 PM.

I think if I ate 25-30 of anything a week I would get sick of it pretty fast.
Except maybe cashews or raisins.
