shell jacket, no powder skirt but keeps the wind out, hood fits over helmet and is a nice spring jacket or you can layer up underneath for the cold. I used it here in Colorado at Loveland in like 12 degree weather with a fleece jacket and a t-shirt underneath and was plenty warm. Pics up in a bit
