Dr. Seuss question
Or giving $1400 checks every week to government employees while struggling Americans just get one.
Sorry...shouldn’t of even brought up Biden, but he is the first President in a long while to not give Seuss his due on this day and as an uneducated idiot he is all I have to read.

Now we're getting to the root of where this fuss came about...
“Dr. Seuss Enterprises listened and took feedback from our audiences including teachers, academics and specialists in the field as part of our review process. We then worked with a panel of experts, including educators, to review our catalog of titles,” it said.

Dr. Seuss question
In “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” an Asian person is portrayed wearing a conical hat, holding chopsticks, and eating from a bowl. “If I Ran the Zoo” includes a drawing of two bare-footed African men wearing what appear to be grass skirts with their hair tied above their heads. - from Viva’s article
Fucking bowls man.
Guessing the Story of Ping is also no longer being published or the five Chinese brothers.

Sambo's Tiger Club member?
Per the Wiki Sambo's met with the whitest of ends: It's now Chad's.
Sambo's was an American restaurant chain, started in 1957 by Sam Battistone Sr. and Newell Bohnett in Santa Barbara, California.[1] Though the name was taken from portions of the names of its founders, the chain soon found itself associated with The Story of Little Black Sambo. Battistone and Bohnett capitalized on this connection by decorating the walls of the restaurants with scenes from the book, including a dark-skinned boy, tigers, and a pale, magical unicycle-riding man called "The Treefriend". By the early 1960s, the illustrations depicted a light-skinned boy wearing a jeweled Indian-style turban with the tigers. A kids club, Sambo's Tiger Tamers (later called the Tiger Club), promoted the chain's family image. The chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 1981.[2] All locations except for the first in Santa Barbara either closed outright, or were renamed after being purchased, effectively ending the chain's existence.
The Santa Barbara restaurant continued business under the Sambo's name until 2020, when it was renamed to Chad's after its owner at the time, Chad Stevens. The George Floyd protests against racism in the United States resulted in the owner of the restaurant changing the name of the establishment.Move upside and let the man go through...

When will it be called a ski contest? Because ski racing could be construed as racist.

I washed dishes on the graveyard shift at the Sambo's at the airport rotary in Hyannis Mass. and lived on purloined breakfast steaks and whippets for a couple months.

Even if the entire Dr Seuss library gets banned, the words are permanently burned into the minds of parents everywhere who have read these books to their kids so.many.fucking.times.
We’d be walking libraries like the people in Fahrenheit 451 or The Book of Eli. I personally can recite the first 2/3 of Cat in the Hat

Got some green eggs and ham and fox in socks going tonight...although my favorite has always been Marvin k Mooney. My mom would read it to us like a crazy lady when we were little and does the same with the grand kids.
Good stuff.

Seuss was a raging liberal.
I remember a big kerfuffle when I was a kid that involved The Lorax. Some kid in Oregon came home from school one day and told his father, a logger, that he was a bad man for cutting down trees. Evidently the kids class had read the The Lorax that day. Dad was pissed as hell that the school was telling his son he was a bad man. Son was crying because his Dad was a tree murderer ruining the environment.
