08/09 Stoke: SNOW BUNNY SKI FREAK.--the CD (semi-spam)

    .
    .
    iTUNES link

    .

    .

850 to 630 million years ago the Cryogenian period yields the most severe ice age resulting in frozen water covering the entire planet.

In 2650 BC the Great Pyramid of Egypt is completed. It remains the largest feature of any terrain park.

In 980 AD primitive Norsemen bring the first pair of skis to Iceland. Season pass sales commence.

In 1969 men land on the moon. They do not ski. By all accounts this is an epic failure.

In 1974 Greg Beck launches off the Palisades cliffs at Squaw Valley, eclipsing the 1969 lunar event.

    In 2008 Jim Sloves releases
Snow Bunny Ski Freak, a sonic tribute to alpine free skiing & Squaw Valley.

Hard rock, guitar rave ups, funk, ballads, instrumentals, ethereal new
age, anthemic, Snow Bunny Ski Freak is a mind-blowing
musical journey into the culture of extreme skiing and the Lake Tahoe
venue of Squaw Valley USA. All are original compositions and lyrics
    except for one song.

A great gift to ring in the new year. Aside from music, the CD can be used as a coaster, to refelect light in secrete code, skeet and trap shooting, etc.

    Squallywood

Woke up at 6am to a blue bird sky
Seven feet of powder fell over night
Blew out my driveway in ten minutes flat
Passing spinned out trucks no way I’m turning back
Me and three friends are cruising in my car
Got my rockered skis; I’m gonna score some gnar

    Read Squally wood
    Yes you should
    That my bible
    It’s gonna take me higher
    Read Squallywood
    Yes you should
    That my bible
    It’s gonna take me higher

KT’s snow capped peaks look so fine
Avy patrol is done and I see my line
Oh my god what an epic powder day
Ski lift operator take me up and away
Straight lining Coleman’s like a powder whore
I’m getting face shots; I can’t wait for some more

    Chorus

Trying for points under the KT lift line
I gotta stay focused or I’ll lose my mind
Maybe I’ll cut right and drop Ice Fall
Racing to forty foot cliffs, good god, why am I here at all
Those Matchstick stars are way ahead of me
This drop is so big it makes me want to pee

    Chorus
    ----------------------------------------
    No Friends…On A Powder Day

    Cold white smoke
    exploding from our tails
    roaring down the mountain
    an adrenalin haze
    flying down steep faces
    there are no friends
    when you wake up
    on those powder days

The rising sun filtered across the room
She rolled in my arms …asked if I’d stay ‘til noon
I looked in her eyes with a dreamy gaze
slid her arms from around my waist
I’m sorry honey but it’s like a race
There are no friends on a powder day

    She wondered about these skiers?
    Why are they so obsessed?
How could I resist her smile
    And her bare breasts
    She panted and she sighed
    I said no way
there’re really are no friends on a powder day

She made me coffee, some bacon & eggs
There’s no time to eat on powder days
I stood in the doorway with her fingers on my chest
She said “Forget K T, I’ll make you feel the best”
A smile crossed my face at the thought of getting laid
    But I said I can’t; it’s a powder day

    She wondered about these skiers?
    Why are they so obsessed?
How could I resist her smile
    And her bare breasts
    She panted and she sighed
    I said no way
there’re really are no friends on a powder day

    Cold white smoke
    exploding from our tails
    roaring down the mountain
    an adrenalin haze
    flying down steep faces
    there are no friends
    when you wake up
    on these powder days

    flying down steep faces
    there are no friends
    when you wake up
    on these powder days

I suggest you get the hard copy stat so you can revel in the
all outrageous lyrics (printed for your convenience) and cool graphic
art which graces the packaging both inside and out and it's fantastic
    mastering by Joe Gastwirt.

$ 12.00 ....is the requested price which includes s/h and a bubble pack envelope and you can use www.PAYPAL.com . Be sure to include your
shipping address. You can pay a bit less if you are strapped for cash;you
can pay more if you feel good about it and want to help out a bit
and pay it forward. (I'm not making any profit here; just trying to minimize losses.)

Actually, Dean Brownell did all the singing. I played all guitar, bass, some drums, most synths. All the credits and details are in the liner notes.

I composed the music and lyrics for all songs with the sole exception of the cover of Ritual Dance written by the late great genius, Michael Hedges. Only three or four tunes have lyrics; remainder are instrumental.

Dean Brownell is a local musician who I met through a friend through a friend who I paid to be my friend. Dean laid down the vocals and killed it!!!!

Please use Paypal. That way I can sell your personal info to my friends in Nigeria and they can help you invest.

Anyway, those who ordered: they will get mailed out on Monday for sure.
I didn't mail Friday because my hours were nuts and today I was enjoying
    the white room.

Nice talents off the slopes... the rock star hobby might explain a lot about some "other posts"?!

My wife had a stint on stage and has her version of "Ski Bunny": www.sugartwins.com

She still teaches music, but isn't touring much anymore...
