Nice, Gebster. Very cool with the pilings in the foreground.

Another of my fireworks shots from Friday.

I got home last night on my bike to find about 6 or 7 cop cars on my street outside of my house with one other car pulled over and this guy sitting in the street. I have no idea who he is or what happened, but I thought I'd take some pictures.

This is the only one that turned out OK. It's a but fuzzy, but for a hand held night time shot, I think it's not too bad.

Nice silhouette of the perp. Crop all of that worthless black space from the top and bottom and it'll have a lot more impact.

Yeah, I looked at that, but the more I cropped (it's already cut down a decent amount) the more obvious it became that the focus wasn't spot on and more hand shake was visible. If I'd have had a few less beers in me, I'm sure it would have turned out a bit better.

It's still a good capture. Probably just as well that you didn't go running out there for a close-up.

195mph superbikes. The power of these bikes is mind bending.

I like it the way it is. Sometimes there is also story in that type of "negative space"...

agree. the black space tones down the flare etc from the cop cars and makes the perp silhouette stand out more

Damn, between the moto shot and Gebster's latest shot I feel like this isn't worthy. That shot of the arch is fucking all time man!

I just like the way the branches are on this tree. Shot with the kit lens on my t1i with no filters. New glass and at least an ND filter are going to be ordered soon.

I'll see your Arch night shot (amazing, BTW), and raise you a night shot at the Grand Canyon over Memorial Weekend. (Yours is much clearer...I'm still getting the night shots down).

Night shots was a bit of trial and error learning for me and still is. Shutter speed set to bulb and held open for 11 minutes-ish, ISO 250, and f8.0 was the winning combo for the shot that I posted.
