This was a few days after the dandelions went by. These spiders can apparently change color according to where they are hunting. A few more days and this one would likely be some other color.

    Anyway...
Yesterday we had a partial eclipse here in N Vermont. Since it was right at sunrise, it offered the opportunity to include a foreground subject. I picked out my spot where Google Earth indicated the sun would rise directly over the top of Burke Mountain at almost the exact time of peak eclipse. However there were bands of high clouds that made getting a clear shot impossible. I did get this which I think has a pretty interesting feel to it.]

Once the sun moved up a bit higher, the clouds thinned and I got this. You can see the topography of the moon if you look close along the edges of the silhouette.

Sorry about the mid-photo watermark. I wanted to make cropping off the mark harder than usual for these photos.

Both of those shots are very cool! I'm guessing not too many people get to go down on the field.

Thanks! Surprisingly if you have $30 and an hour, the basic stadium tour takes you down there. The tour guide did not appreciate me running around as far as they’d let me and delaying the exit of the tour from the field, but I may never get back, so might as well soak it up. Haha.

That first one above is great. I feel like I’ve seen a similar image from you before maybe?

A few years ago I had some summer night shots looking up at the Milky Way though a opening in the trees, as well as a photo with an old rowboat and the Milky Way. I think I may have posted daytime photo(s) of that sugarhouse as well.

Nice, what is the focal length of the wide?

Curious, did you pick up the manual or AF version?

I’ve been more than impressed with the images that come out of my manual focus 14mm

I really like it for images of a subject where you’re trying to show the surrounding environment - portraits, things you’re holding, etc. If I can remember I’ll post some examples the next time I’m back at my computer.

Manual focus. I figure that most of the time I'll be shooting at infinity so it isn't a big deal
