The crux for me is to convince partners to wait long enough to set up! I usually go first and tell them where I'll be and where they should lay out a sick #instaturn. I get to my safe spot, pull the phone out (it's been a long time since I was serious enough to bring a camera), and by the time I'm close to ready they're charging by or already gone cause you know, that snow needs to be skied right away and stuff...

Maybe they'd take you more seriously if you pulled out a full frame DSLR and a giant lens?
I guess I'm lucky, even the partners I go out with who want to move really fast don't seem to mind taking pics on the way down.

I played that game for a few years, my old D90 with a big 18-200 lens went everywhere in the chest pack. Then I downgraded to a nice wide-angle point and shoot. Then I downgraded to a phone. Soon I'll be reduced to describing visuals in great details when I post in the Wasatch thread... The same thing happened with climbing, I used to be way into elaborate rigs to get great pictures and now it's all top-rope buttshots from my phone.
In all seriousness though, I have a lot of respect for people who haul serious camera equipment in the BC. The motivation and discipline it takes to post up mid-run instead of taking it all the way down is more than I can handle. One day I realized the amount of extra vert and mileage I logged to get good shots could be spent doing an extra lap instead and it was all over. Since I rarely look at pics on a big screen or have them printed the image quality is a non issue and the latest crop of smartphones is more than good enough for run of the mill #instaspray. I actually had a huge panoramic I took with my phone printed on canvas and it looks incredible. The medium is so coarse you don't notice any of the details (or lack thereof) you'd see on photo paper.
TL-DR: I'm too lazy to get serious about it. You, on the other hand, are obviously motivated and have a good eye. I'll consume all of the ski porn you're willing to post!

Thanks, I’ll keep posting as long as it keeps snowing.
You may be surprised, my kit most of the time is pretty small and light. Most days (like this morning) it was a mirrorless full frame and a small prime lens. Probably weighs about the same as a beer or 2 and takes up the same amount of space.
