I posted a similar vantage in the seemingly defunct MPC a few challenges ago. That one is hudge above my fireplace. This one was nixed by the wife as the pinks and purples don't jive with the tones in the room.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Love it! Seneca, Island maybe Hobbs? Titcomb is a haul for a weekend hike.

Sunday was a slog, 18 miles and most of that in hail and rain. Worth it though. Elkhart and then Island x2.

Way farther than I want to hike. Well done. I used to be able to get out west in September but can't with a kid in high school. So quiet and such beautiful colors.

    Did you fish?

One of my favorite areas.. although I have still to climb it... May be a little while now that I have little kids.

Nice, i haven't been up there in a few years. Was it more unnerving in that fog? Or less when you can't gauge the exposure?

Stitch from the Winds this summer. I posted a photo from this sunset already but these are different images from earlier shots 2x24 mm. Edited in Lightroom/Microsoft image composite editor to stitch.

I got lost at 3am in the dark and tacked an extra 4 or 5 miles onto an already long dayhike. When I got to the final pitch where you leave the ridge to scramble up the east face I just didn't have the gas in the tank to get it done. So I waited while my partner knocked out the last 500' vert. Looking forward to heading back there next summer cuz I'll have a better idea of where I'm going.

The west bank of the Colorado River, about 10 miles north of Dotsero this morning. There are some great landscape shots to be had up that way when there's good light and interesting weather.

And one from the back deck just now, of the clearing storm with Castle Peak in the clouds (not the Castle Peak near Aspen):
