Skialpy, You should put those in here...

At the right time of day, for a few short weeks a year, a rainbow appears in the mist of the Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park

This is the worst pain EVER!

The Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro is slowly becoming one of my favorite lenses:

Nice Park shots Lonnie, especially the Lower Falls! What long lens combo did you end up going with?

I'll add a few more from my 4th of July weekend. This is a 4 year old bad boy that got caught eating cattle in Wyoming and was relocated into the Park last Fall. He just turned up in Hayden Valley about 4 days ago and will hopefully fill out from his rather scrawny state and roam the Park for many years to come.

I ended up going with the Sony 70-400 G II upon your advice and the recommendation of the rental company. Honestly, I now almost want to sell my 70-200 f/2.8 for that lens and "upgrade". I rarely use the 70-200 @ f/2.8 anyway.....

I think we saw the same bear. These are from July 4.

A couple from last night's sunset. The fires out west are adding some enhancements to the color.

^ Love the subtle colours, and how the waterfall leads the eyes there.

Love it -- fantastic blurring. Too bad you're getting rid of it! If I weren't in NZ, I'd have bought yours (been looking at some inexpensive macros).

Love the kayak shot -- assuming you used a polarizer for the rich colours?

I was still in the water, but my wife caught this at the finish line of the Fat Salmon Open Water Swim in Lake Washington on Saturday.

Actually no. That was shot at 11mm on a crop. A CP would streak the sky. But Tahoe is such a deep, rich blue on a sunny day and being out on the water reflects so much light that colors feel really bold often. The water appears green there because we are crossing a relatively shallow sandy area and it gives off a bright teal.

Two from a hike on the east side (and above) of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was nice to see the hordes of tourists descending on Estes Park while I pulled off and had virtually no one around for the entire hike.

    Meeker (L) and Longs (R):

Looking northwest towards the Divide. I wonder if the couloir in the middle goes?

Nice pics. Is that part of the Y Couloir on Ypsilon Mtn that you're referring to? It does go, just not right now.

TBH, I wasn't really sure the name of the peak when I posted... but it definitely makes sense if it's the "Y Couloir".
