Right? Mine came out a couple of months ago via c-section, not as much goup, and it was a whirlwind so no slr in the room. It's a helluva photo...

outabounds, that is a great shot.
Deutschbag, congrats! I'm impressed you had the time to shoot (and that your wife let you!).

Been busy with work, but have managed to keep up with my 365 (barely at times). Here's one from the weekend:

thanks guys. I had a bit of a special situation - I had back surgery 4 days prior to my daughters being born. I was stuck in one of two chairs, and had to alternate between them often. I just took pictures while sitting there or moving between chairs. We had two friends, one who is a midwife, in the delivery room with us to help up (along with the big staff of German nurses/miwives). They kept yelling at me to take it easy and sit down since I wasn't supposed to be walking and standing so much. It was hard not to be excited, though! My wife was very cool with me taking pics. We've documented the entire pregnancy, so this was the logical conclusion. We were worried I wouldn't be able to shoot at all because of my back, but a couple of percs helped with that.... Yes, I vastly overdid things, but it was worth it.

Whoa. Kids, newborns, dogs catching snowballs, awesome lenticulars, skiing, flowers... This thread is really delivering lately!

There's a bunch of Snowy Owls wintering down here this year so I went out to Ocean Shores to get some pics. NOTE: I just got Lightroom for Christmas and I'm still learning how to use it so go easy on me. I can see that I need to learn how to setup presets so the colors, vignettes and whatnot come out more consistently in a set of photos...

    This guy's seen some action:

Just google Lightroom presets -- you can download a ton of free presets that will help you get started. Typically, there's never a one-size-fits-all solution. I'll often start with a preset (either downloaded or my own creation) and then tweak it from there for individual shots as needed. But the free presets might help you figure out what "looks" you prefer and how to create you own.

Bluebird day + limited terrain, so decided to try out the 16-35L for skiing today. Digging the ultra wide angle look:

Skis got some flex, so does the shoulder.

wow, the jump from the Canon 450D to 7D was way way bigger than I anticipated.

I need to get me a Speedlite, because flash is fun.

    Conception pics??

First daughter was by C-section and I got pics. Twins were an emergency C and I didn't get in the OR (actually booted out the door).
