Merry Christmas!
Someone had to say it.
All the best to all of you. Really.

Might want to change that to "Happy Holidays!" before you get sued for discrimination (I love America these days)...

No chance. It's December 24th. They can have my Merry Christmas when they pry it from my cold dead hand.

I'm glad I didn't have to start a thread. I'll poach this one.
I hope everyone is as lucky as I am this year!
Here are my Christmas blessings, and I'm not even religious.
For those who don't know, my dog and I were attacked on 12/22 by a loose Pit on the beach. She was hurt really badly and spent some time in dog-ICU.
Pictures! These are of Moo Lady in ICU on the second day. She had to spend an extra day in the hospital because the initial assessment of the total extent of damage was not know until the Doctor had opened her up.
If you are in the area, or able to get there I highly recommend Dr. Brown DVM in Newport OR. He is the best Vet I have ever come across. His offices are clean, the staff is super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding. They have a little area for animals much like the playground at McDonalds; but, the experience is NOT McDonalds. He is very thorough and experienced. The people in the ER even knew who he was, and assured me that Moo Moo was in good hands. My Vet at home is good, but nothing like this! Find Dr. Brown, you won't regret it.
The final score: Pitbull=1, Moo Bear= 1,000,021
1: Fight => I think the Pit may have won, but Boo Bear put up one hell of a fight!
3: Hernias
1: Diaphragmatic tear
2: Chest tubes
4: Broken ribs
2: Days in ICU
4: Hours in surgery
5: Teeth removed/broken
0: Dollars spent by me on the mechanic for the dog
1,000,000: Blessings in getting her back for Christmas and knowing that everything is going to be OK in just a couple of weeks!
Lady Mss. Muffin Butt in ICU stoned and trying to get out of her room:
Sunny Muffins hamming it up for the camera (And it's the drugs... Her eyes normally both point forward):
Finally too pooped to stand any longer Moo Moo is lying down:
Happy Holidays everyone!
okbye
EDIT: FYI I'll be posting more about my dog here and there when I can get the pics off my camera... Sorry, but I'm really stoked to have her home and safe.Last edited by RaccoonFace; 12-25-2008 at 01:13 AM.

Nope, the other dog is safe at home. It's owner was really rad to deal with. At first I was pissed and now I'm really thankful. The situation sucks, but it could have been much worst. My dog could be dead, or I could be stuck with a bunch of bills... or both! Neither is the case, and my dog is here sleeping next to me waiting for Santa to deliver her Christmas Bacon, and ping pong balls. Besides, I wouldn't want to see another animal put down. It was a young Pit that was recently rescued that he had been working with; but still should have had him leashed. The owner seems to be very caring, and a stand up guy. I hope he is well too, and I am still/again very thankful this year. I have been blessed (with the perspective that it could have been worse) and I hope that everyone is blessed too!
Best Christmas Present ever = My dog.
Stay tuned for randomly placed pics of my dented dog
Best wishes TGR Collective!

Wow, raccoonface, great perspective on things given the circumstance. I can't say I would react the same way. Then again, I would be the one with the pit and not the little fairy dog.

Happy holidays and merry christmas!
Glad your dog is ok, racoonface. I'm sitting here with three beautiful dogs who each have a little Christmas bandana on and we're all about to go dive into about 3 feet of snow in the backyard in Tahoe.
I'm grateful for health, for family and friends, for a new president, and that I've got work I love, food on the table and a roof over my head. Can't imagine needing much more.
xoxo
