How about a quick lap around 3 Larch or Orchard Ridge with Wally?
I mean, it's the 3rd week of October. Not exactly time for big rides. It was getting cold and dark coming down from Sentinel the other afternoon.
I would love to do some big Bitterroot rides, but that's going to have to wait till next July.

I did the sheep + mineral loop earlier this year and it took our group over 8 hours. Plus I don't think I would want to ride up the east fork and mineral peak trail. You need to push the bike up a lot of that.

Just point 6 and then stuart peak would be a fun one though. Could stash some water and snacks at the ravine trailhead.

Eh, unless it's pouring rain I'm up to ride. Anyone else going to rolling thunder cyclocross at big sky brewing? Racing starts at about noon tomorrow, fast guys go at 7pm. Pretty sure there will be a lot of free beer.

Ended up doing a quick spin up to the Stuart peak Wilderness boundary, than down via Snowbowl overlook and fence line.

Snow and rain combined with wet gloves made for chilly fingers (only part that got cold), but the baggy helped:

    Awesome fall colors:

Strange to brag on a ride that you didn't ride but walked. But that's par for those in the Stuckie Zone, I guess.

It must be tough to do a slightly longer ride when your Big Weekly Ride is 30 minutes on Thursday Evening with the GROUPRIDECLUSTERFUCKINRATTLESNAKE.

"Down via snowbowl overlook" is not the overlook descent, unless you are a GROUPRIDECLUSTERFUCKINRATTLESNAKE rider and do the jeep road climb as a descent with 30 other riders, blowing out corners and riding in whatever line you WISH was there.

Also, to Mister I Have The Hot Area Code, PLEASE Envy Me! -- that saddle angle looks like you must be a gelding from the Vienna Boys Choir.

Actually riding my bike in meatspace sounds like the suck. Think I'll stick to e-riding and e-expertise proffers on TGR.
Yeah, anything past 30 mins of flat trails must be deadly. You gonna slay Second Thought when the lifts start turning, Whalebear?

I think you had it right in your earlier comment:

Croaky can be reached at 973-DUMBASS if anybody wants to call. (But his phone hasn't rang in eons, I'm afraid.)

Good eye, I was having to adjust it several times during the ride, seat post is a bit worn out and/or needs some locktight.

I think you're getting your internet insults mixed up. I do actually ride bikes a lot.

We rode to sheep first, and then to mineral and down the east fork. I didn't push my bike very much on that ride. Over a little step near the top of sheep is all I can think of. What I said was, going the other direction, up east fork and the mineral peak trail, would involve a good amount of walking. I've only gone to sheep that way once and it kind of sucked.

Btw, 914s at Goodwill. Attached to some old K2s via some lifter plates. Spheric toe kind. Not the creme dela creme but might be useful for someone.

Creaky must ride up the Mineral Peak trail so he can ride that 5 miles of FS road on the backside as a descent. I guess that's how the old losers on the internet like to hit it. Why go down the good stuff when you can have a nice smooth road instead.

Anyway I look forward to another summer of him not showing up to any races or events and then shitting on everybody on the internet. If he rode as much and was as fast as he pretends to be then we'd see him on the trails for sure. Missoula ain't that big. As it is he probably stopped racing the last time he got shit out the back of a master B race 3 minutes in and now has to pretend that he was some bigshot in the Missoula scene way back when.

Well, I know what a grom means in that context. Why would I want to save the bindings from them? Did he mean *for* a grom?

I think I just read every post ITT. Currently applying to UMontana for a PhD program. Between this thread and the fact that housing is a third the cost of what it is in RI I'm hoping they give me a good deal.

Saw some pics on my fb of someone up on Carlton Ridge. There must be just barely enough snow and only if you know exactly where to go.
