I skied a little today in between working. Fresh tracks down Meadows at 11am. And then second tracks. How the fuck. There were people there.
    Should be up tomorrow too.
Represent, Missoula maggots! Even Sue was up there today.
    No longer stuck.

Sue is there every day. Which is why she is still skiing bowl laps while you are being rad for Garland.

yeah, going to be in the 40s in town, and it was pretty warm/damp up there today. Shooting for earlyish.

Was just looking through my post history and after a visit to BBI realized how silly this in hindsight. Snowbowl has cold ass slow chairs, the liftlines aren't anywhere nearly as fun as they are at alpy, snow is meager and it's kinda flat. I guess i'll take the short lift lines even if they are not fun, but nothing else. Hopefully TV mountain slackcountry will make a positive impression on me in February since it should be in shape now. I do like the touring around here, it makes a lot more sense in winter than it does in PNW, despite the stupidly long approaches and high chances of getting "Bitteroooted". Anyway the touring season is just around the corner, the lifts will stop spinning soon, so hopefully its comparable to PNW corn cycles.

I think that's the first time I've heard someone call snowbowl "kinda flat."

Ugh might be freezing rain/rain all the way up to the top, snowbowl report is very marketing oriented. I guess it's time to drive up and find out.

Snowbowl isn't flat, nor is it steep. It's just kinda homogeneous - it's not bad skiing when conditions are good, but there's not a lot of variety.

    Fuck this rain.
Yeah, you can see everything bending with the new weight in the trees.

Quick aside: is Snowbowl still open Mondays in March?

Got up there and it was closed. 0/**** on Buster snowflake scale. At least we're getting a reset with all this rain so big Bitterroot lines will likely be a go in a week or three.

Cool, have fun elsewhere. The Bowl is too crowded anyways and TV mountain is not going to change your mind.

Alpental is a special place. Tomorrow we might complete our reset back to a skiable surface, or this will be really frustrating week or two of high pressure.

Couple dudes were shotgunning beers in front of me the other day. They were stoked. This dude was a total beginner and had never been on a lift before. His snowboarder buddy was using his poles to poke the beers. For a second I thought they shared the shotgun; I mean, they were asking about slowing down the lift at the top, but know they did it proper and each shotgunned one. I shouted unload instructions to him. He did great. Those guys were a trip.

Sticky always has an excuse for not getting there on time.
Anyway today was ***/**** on the scale. It was only soft if you didn't make many turns
Got 6th chair despite 50 cars in the lot by the time I arrived, apparently it's a big ski school day and the kids take 45 minutes to get ready??? Took 3 laps, first off west bowl trees, good, then meadows, windblown(kinda shitty), then back to the trees and there were too many tracks so i went home. Back to touring tomorrow, might do lolo or gash point pending partner availability, and hopefully something bigger next week.
As always snowbowl is mildly disappointing.
