Foraged out into the Bitterroots on Thursday with wordbird, and skied Pinball Wizard off of St. Joespeh peak. The 6am start allowed *just* enough time to climb over little joe and get to the start zone before the sun wrecked it.

Had to navigate some recent wet-slide debris later down in the pinch, but it held up and the last turns at the bottom delivered.

Overall it was a fantastic descent.

The legs hurt today. But no sunburn or blisters, so I'll call that a big win in my book.

    Wow! Nice photos.

Happy to report that I'll be looking to connect with Missoula mags next season. House in on the market in Iowa and plans for a Missoula move are in the works. Approval to continue my remote work with current employer. Can't wait to get back to Montana, will have to research the possibilities of removing Iowa from my username.

Looking forward to giving Ronnie a hug

Be careful in there. A lot of people don't remember that far, but 20 or 25 years ago that thing slid huge and killed several people.

Sounds like you don't know how to use words effectively to convey meaning. If you had put it in quotes, that would have suggested an ironic bent on the word. Sorry you were unclear, and think that makes you cool. Try saying what you mean, I wasn't the only one who questioned your statement.

I would not doubt it. The exit turns into a classic funneled terrain trap, and it takes time getting down through it.

Can't find any articles or info on that slide thus far, but will keep digging around.

    Cool trip.
Wordbird, this isn't the west coast, we don't get 4' dumps. Otoh, we don't ski concrete that's tracked out by 11am.
Does the Bozeman area have more snow and better terrain? Yes, but you have to live in Bozeman.

Meh, mantana appears to be getting a little up tight. Lighten up Francis.

Yeah I'm not sure why supposedly the chillest town in Montana has the angriest thread. Head over to SW Montana thread for some better vibes i guess. Looking forward to a mediocre spring, hope to bag at least a couple more line that measure up to Pinball. Harry I'm interested in learning more about the 'root slide as well.

I'm not angry, just cantankerous. Seems like some kids have delicate sensibilities. This IS TGR right?

Creaky is still around, I saw him up at the Bowl few weeks back.

Touring around Lost Trail when they're closed during the week is still kosher right?

They usually don't care. If you are going to take the time to tour, think about the cirque off the back of the chair 4 area. There is some good steep stuff with plenty of north-facing in there.

Yeah, you could have better success by buying one ride lift ticket for 10 bucks or so when they are open.

People drop right off the back there by the wheelhouse? That's steep!
