Yeah that stat is inconclusive, however it does reveal that people do indeed fall off of lifts equipped with them. There is plenty of space for people to slide between them and the seat. I think a big deal is made of them, and they do little to provide the security that handwringers like to think they do.

I ride the lifts with kids in lessons often. The vast majority have no problem with the lifts at Snowbowl, even those so small that they need to be lifted onto the chair.

What percentage of those falls involved season pass holders? That would be a real metric. Probably under 10. Tourons gonna touron.

Those new 8 packs at big sky have safety bars that come down automatically, and it'd take some serious contortions to fall out of the chair with the bar down. I suspect those sort of things will become more common.

I'm pretty sure they can stay open if you push/hold them right after loading. At least that's what I remember from Ram Charger.

It is BS so the chair may have been broken when it was installed or shortly after.

$578 for an Adult (Facebook link above, price in header photo). Can't remember the Snowbowl site price, I'm thinking it saves about $50

If you buy with a second adult they pay $522ish. So together you could each save $86, so that's a nice positive to it.

Keeping a watch on this storm brewing up north. Could be a rare September snow event in the valley

I'd say almost 12 out of the last 12 years that I've lived in MT, I've seen snow before my birthday (10/13). Not usually this much though, woo!

If my flatmate and I walk in holding hands, do we qualify for the second adult pass? I'll drop a "honey" or two. Surely, no one will want to pry too deep.
    Then again, this IS Missoula.

The requirement to get the couples discount is you have to kiss passionately in front of Ronnie. Are you and your roommate willing to do that?

Snowbowl's Tax Evasion Plan. I guarantee you SB doesn't pay a dime of taxes on the huge bag of "cash only" passes. Kinda bullshit in my book. Let's say they sell 500 passes at the party for $500/each, totalling $250K. I'm sure the $50k (20%) that they don't pay in tax goes right into the hill....or goes to pay their employee's better, or to provide better equipment to their staff, or, or, or. Right.

It needs to be a commercially viable product, you sign your rights away for distribution of the footage when you pay for the reduced pass rate.
