geezus, there is an Ullr! this is starting to get a bit ridiculous. I sure hope you guys heard about this before you head in to work and decide to do the correct thing and make some irresponsible decisions and take advantage of this. how about some mid-morning stoke pics when I return later, eh?
looks like this may set some things in motion.

Did I read this right? Avy report says Christmas and knuckles were open yesterday, and it appears that it was snowing all day . . . enough to drop 31" in 24 hours . . . THAT must have been what you might call a good day . . . wow.

heres some pics from another epic, waist deep top to bottom, day at alyeska.
I haven't tried shooting ski stuff with a point and shoot in 10 years and I see why.
there is a little bit of light in the winter. 10AM sunrise over Carpathien
the mtn with the lights still on looking pretty covered with 270" so far.
it was deep. and in the shade.
Hucking everywhere, even over alders on south face.
theres more snow on the way, maybe some still to fall for the weekend worrior crowd.

Yeah I made it out finally, 31" at the base was insane because it was so heavy, had to keep speed way up, or you would just sink to your waist and just stop. Made skiing to the car at the end of the day tough. Anyone else get stuck in the crazy fog that rolled in at 2-2:30 at midway. That shit was like pea-soup, couldn't see anything.

Tags funny. Snow deep.
Been wondering... Think Alyeska can break the old Baker 1200'' record? I don't see why not, other snowstake-free parts of the Chugach must do it constantly.

A friend and I were just there; booked our Alaska/Horizon tickets Sunday evening, flew out Tuesday afternoon, skied Wednesday & Thursday, flew back out Thursday night and back in Tahoe this afternoon. Timed it perfectly; NO crowds, deeeep snow, tons of base and a little visibility. We had a blast, long way to travel for 2 days of skiing but completely worth it. Definitely a fun resort that I would love to have more time to explore.
I am now obsessed with getting back up there in the summer to do some proper poking around, Alaska is definitely awesome."Wherever beer is brewed, all is well. Whenever Beer is drunk, life is good" -- Czech proverb.
