Headed up Trelease yesterday hoping to ski the mellow SE facing slopes. Especially down low, the snowpack was WAY thinner than I expected, like 6 inches deep. Surprised to find facets almost top to bottom at 11,500 feet on SE aspects in open areas. Ended up dropping into Dry Gulch and skiing some of the north facing shots that are normally awesome. Truly challenging skiing conditions back there, better coverage but really bad breakable crust.

Has anyone seen snowmobile tracks in Dry Gulch this winter?

Thought there'd be a sun crust.
I haven't, there was a trailered sled parked there yesterday, ran into the owner who stopped by for a tour on his way to Vail Pass. Don't know why anyone would want to sled back there, it would just be a willow hell down low, I guess up high might be ok.

Yesterday I skied Trelease and my dumbass left a pole behind. If anybody found a black bd ski pole in the parking area I would greatly appreciate it if they returned it.
I will trade a 6-pack of beer or soda for the pole.
Thanks
Joeis this thing on?
