... all I know is I saw one amazing lightning show as the current deluge was rolling into town last night around 7:30'ish over the Oquirhhs.

^I hate you guys. Looks like this thread (always one of my favorites) is satisfying a severe appetite for stoke. Looking forward to a great season.

LAID 'EM DOWN IN MAIN CHUTE

Not sure if I skied over other tracks but looked like some earlier bomb work had been done at the top. I kept wondering if someone had made it to the top yet but I laid the skinner from the top of bad news area until the col where Main starts. The skiing was unconsolidated snow and luckily steeper than the apron and everything else because once I was out of main it was walk skiing even for my 160mm wide tips. I walked from the bottom of ball room until I ran into a cat trail 200 meters above the mid-mountain outlet for the Collins quad. SO WAX well and get ready for some heavy lovins!!!

Like to hear if anyone knows of someone skiing main this week before today. I skied over old tracks or slough debris underneath the 2-3' freshies that engulfed me from the get go until upper ballroom traverse.

What a way to welcome the winter!

It just keeps coming! The bosses at the bird called us in for some early setup. We're starting full time as of tomorrow. There goes the early season touring I was trying to fit in. Oh well, it is definitely better this way.

    A) It looks awesome.
    B) Any Utards that don't get out there suck
    c) Hopefully it does just sit there and rot for a few days and end up creating a terrible rotten weak layer that slides all winter long.

I'll go out when it's sunny. I'm used to Mammoth skiing where it dumps and by time the wind has died down and the control work has been done it is sunny. So I only like skiing when it's sunny, not when it's snowy.

you'd better go back from whence you came then. Last season (700+") I think I got like 4 sunny days!

    Good luck with that though.

    Actually no.
99% of the time it means shit if you have good snow tires. That sign is retarted. They should either only turn it on when it's really 4/6 thick and nasty inches packed on the road or check people tires, not the number of wheels powering the thing.

Half the time my 2WD X-ice equipped car is stuked behind some Cherokee or Explorer with shit all season tires weaving left and right at 10mph .... Sad.
