I’m looking at a 2016 M800 limited 162. Any specific engine issues, or other issues to look for?

Sled has less then 1000 miles on it. Doesn’t look abused. Bunch of after market parts, like a 2.8in track that supposed to be lighter then the stock one.

Suzuki Engine is pretty bomb proof, 2.8 track must be a Conquer 280, very light but some reports I have read say it trenches worse than the Cat 2.6. Others than that 2016 has the narrow front end, improved Boss clutches and better skid geometry. If it still has stock skis you might want to replace them.

Nope. Great sled, just watch for your standard maintenance stuff. "bunch of aftermarket stuff" Throws a flag for me, usually means the sled was used, stock 16/17 was a good year, and just kind of works. The 2017 Mountain Cat is the sled to have of that vintage.

    I believe it is a 2002 RMK 800 156 vertical edge.

At the very end of last season one of my co workers killed the spare drive belt, he'd already killed the regular one by not freeing up the track and just trying to get the frozen beast moving by throttle alone!

My problem is not just no belt. The sled is in Japan (where I am headed in a week) and I am in France. I'd like to order one from the USA and have it shipped so I don't have to wait too long. Tks Tom

The 16 M8 is gone, so I’ll look for 17 m8s. The dealer an hour or so away in Idaho has 18 RMK-Pro 163s for 10k new, I’m thinking about that.

it's kinda hard to buy used w the deals that are out there with at least 1 year warranty. think it's like 1k for 5 year cat warranty.

I've got a used 2010 yami supercharged nytro, but its a 'bit' heavy and while reliable, I'm having to catch up on deferred maintenance from previous owner vs riding.

lots of great advice in this thread re sleds for sure, including what others just said about that 17 motor in the cats (research, dont own one yet).

wouldn't have wanted to dig my sled out for 20k for sure!

I was told mine shipped 12/18. It hasn’t arrived, but our post office is notoriously slow.

Ive been told lots of ship dates over the past month.

Called around thanksgiving and they said it would ship within a week.

Email was then sent to everyone on 12/5 saying they would ship 12/18.

    Label was created on 12/8.

12/21 i called and they said it would ship that day. UPS status changed to "Drop-off" (which apparently the seller checks, not UPS). It never went out.

12/27 I called and Mo Pros said it was at UPS and UPS just wasn't scanning things which i've never heard of. 1 hour later the status changed with a "pickup scan".

So maybe now they are finally on the way. Can't say I've been impressed with how long this has taken.

Does anyone here carry snowmobile insurance? Worth it? Experience with actual claims?
