2018. Last time I bought a key it was less than $100 so I would say $150 not $500.

There are no dess keys from what I’ve heard so it could be $$ to get one if it’s available and that is what you need. Ski-doo 2022-2023’s r coming off the line unequiped….

If u do misplace your key or break it there is a way to bypass the dess but I’m not at liberty to say that over the internet…

I just had a spare key programmed for my 18 summit.
$100. It will live in my pack, had the original pull off my pack nut strap and get buried in the snow, luckily we found it after digging for a half hour.

Still need steel wear bars or the sled won't turn worth shit.
I won't run carbides ever, they catch on anything and everything.

The wear bars I use are "hard weld" steel. They are steel, but they put a bead of weld on the running surface, like a carbide, to make them last a little longer. They work great in all conditions that I've been in, but they wear out pretty quick. You have to keep an eye on em, or you could damage a ski. Same goes for carbides, but you need to check less frequently.

I lock the front superclamp and use a cable lock on tunnel-to attach to the deck. I also leave a note on front seat- truck has live GPS tracking…however if someone really wants it they will get it….

Always make sure you have theft insurance

Yup. Sled lives on my truck in the winter; cable lock thru the tunnel, and strategic parking.

And don’t discount the complexity of the fasteners on a sled cover - those f’n things never come off fast.

The joke in Whistler is you put an Arctic Cat cover on your sled, no matter what brand it is…. (I always had a AC so I was already set)

Is cleaning carbs hard?

Cleaning carbs is pretty straight forward. I find a good carb clean on my 95 tundra is a 1 beer job. Best done in a warm environment. 700 is a twin carb? So make that a 3 beer job (I find it’s not linear) so if it’s 3 it might also be a 3 beer job.

If it’s your first time, watch some videos, take lots of pictures, have a small parts organization system if doing multiples.

But - Are you going to be riding on hills? If yes is there a good chance you will tip over. Then cleaning carbs is the least of your problems.

Un-flooding carbs can be a pain in the ass.

Having jetting that works at your house and in the mountains can also be the suck depending on where you plan on using it.

Modern fuel injection may be worth the price of admission depending on where you plan on using the machine.

What I know about 2 stroke jet ski carbs is this:
The health of your engine is 100 percent reliant on your carbs.
One carb goes lean boom there goes a cylinder.
Cleaning your carbs vs rebuilding with oem kits
Although it is possible to clean your carbs without rebuilding them the chances of fucking something up or reassembling wrong are high.
If your in there do it right and replace everything with oem parts. 22 year old diaphragms that have probably had ethanol in them are probably junk. Same goes for needle and seat materials. I can't remember when they started putting ethanol in the fuel but chances are it was after those carbs were designed meaning many of the parts that come in contact with fuel weren't rated for ethanol.

Find a manual and do it by the book or find someone local who does it and make sure they're familiar with those carbs before giving them the green light.

Definitely a few stumps and big rocks but still hitting them square so no damage. Biggest damage this year was being run over by a snowcat

Ya'll been getting out? We've been getting quite a bit of snow with zero stability. No better way to stay out of avalanche terrain for me than a day on the sled with friends.

I've lived in the Fraser Valley for 25+ years and I still go places snowmobiling that I never been before. Bring you sense of adventure, a good attitude and a strong back and you'll be rewarded with a smile you won't be able to wipe of your face for days.

I wish I was closer to come hang. A lot of my buddies have been pushing the limits and not paying attention to the snowpack which has caused me to stop going with anyone, and this is only my first year.
