Besides some sidehill strategy, understanding that sleds work on momentum and use...the...fuckin'...brake! are probably the the most important skills. And in order to be able to do that your clutching has to be fairly dialed and you need to get the whole game of burn brake and blip the throttle at your primary's engagement spot.
So many people have sweet sleds and can rip around in the meadow but they don't really get clutching. Snowmobiles work on Magic!
Oh, for the most part all parking lots are icy. Get a traction ladder even if it is homemade.
