    NZ: South Island Stoke

I originally only intended to visit NZ. My sister's in grad school at Canterbury and some friends that had done a few season in Vail with live in Christchurch. But i figured what the hell so i got the working holiday visa off the NZ immigration website and moved here til the end of November.

Did a few days at Mt Hutt which were good but i've really been impressed with the club fields here. Real basic operations(rope tows, one-lane dirt roads, etc) with few amenities but totally cuts down on the gaper factor.

Olympus is the shit! Only got in one day there, but remember hiking that far ridge. Some outstanding turns to be had there.

Looks like a killer trip, thanks for the pics!

Yeah, the weather had been socked in for 3 straight days and we were so desperate for some turns we went up Porters in the rain(!)

I'm a huge fan of the place- tons of chutes/stashes everywhere.

Hey Leftfield, nice pics. Looks like you have scored some epic days around the place. I think I ran into you last Sat at Olympus but had a shocker and didn't introduce myself. Sorry about that, hardly very welcoming of me.

No worries, maybe we can hook it up next time. Or PM me if you're ever looking to carpool.

We'll be up at Olympus tomorrow and Sunday if you're around. Blue coat, red helmet, Bluehouse Districts, with a friend in an orange coat and a tele skier with orange pants.
