You could give her a tape with just "The Song Remains The Same" on it, buy her a train ticket, (I'm assuming being from Yurp she's ridden on one, and not being too hip to mass culture cars probably frighten the shit out of her) tell her to flip it over everytime it stops playing, get off every time the train stops and see everything. If she returns within 5 months you've failed. If not, then you've done your job and she is probably a very worldly woman by then.

Great suggestions so far. Ok, there seems to be some controversy over her upbringing. She's from a really small town in southern Netherlands (near the boarder with Belgium). She was raised on a small pig farm, all they ate was stuff they grew on the farm (pig and fruit/vegetables). She definitely isn't some locked in the closet till she's 18 reject. She totally has it together and is awesome with our kids. Unflappable is the best word to describe her.
So far for The Who I have:
-Baba O'Reilly
-My Generation
-Who Are You
-Won't Get Fooled Again
-I can See For Miles
-Behind Blue Eyes
For Zep I have:
-Ramble On
-Stairway to Heaven
-Whole Lotta Love
-Immigrant Song
-Hey Hey What Can I Do
I am also compiling a list of Beach Boys songs (she's going to a BB concert and wants to hear some):
-California Girls
-Good Vibrations
-I Get Around
-Surfin' USA
-Help Me Rhonda
-Wouldn't It Be Nice
I love Dylan and The Dead, but I thought I'd ease her into stuff like that. Thought I'd start with some of the British Invasion bands and work up from there. She's already familiar with The Beatles and The Stones, that's why I went with Zep and The Who.
Definitely interested in other suggestions for MUST LISTEN bands/individuals.Of all the muthafuckas on earth, you the muthafuckest.

For "classic rock" Deep Purpple should also be on the list...
And get her some Sushi... Plus remind her that the international side in Schipol -airport has an excelent Sushi-bar (pretty near the passport-control).Originally Posted by RootSkier

Beach Boys?
You forgot "Sloop John B"!
"Feel Flows" is another fave of mine, but it's from their "drug years" and might not translate the band so well to her.
Just give her a copy of Pet Sounds.I still call it The Jake.

classic WHO songs
I would go with the whole Quadraphenia album or Who's Next. Skip the early 60's stuff and go right into the hard rockin 70's material
Songs:
Real Me
5:15
Bab'o'Riley (sometimes referred to as Teenage Wasteland)
Bargain
I am One
Oh! and "WHO ARE YOU"!

I admire your restraint SS, I don't know if I could trust myself around that speech therapist.

The Beach Boys will be playing all those songs on your list. But boy is Mike Love looking old and kind of like the creepy old man. Lots of gold rings on his fingers and bad jokes. He points and waves and winks at lots of people in the audience during the show. Saw them two weeks ago from the 2nd row at Mountain Winery in Saratoga (CA). Fun show. She'll be one of the youngest people in the audience. And I think it was the first concert I've ever been to where I didn't smell herb. They also did a medley of all their car-related songs.

Quoted for truth.
But how come no one's yet quoted Fast Times at Ridgemont High?
Emphasizes the difficulty of picking five. My edits:
- drop Baba O and Lily
- bump Miles up (talk about timeless -- a song that could've been recorded yesterday instead of 40 years ago)
- clarify that My Generation should be the version off Live at Leeds (cheating, I know)
- add either The Real Me or The Punk Meets the Godfather (Quadrophenia, represent!)
- add Magic Bus (Leeds)
Quoted for truth. I'd develop a stammer in her presence, that's for sure.not counting days 2016-17

I know it takes a village to raise a child, I just didn't know you had to hire and house the village.
I couldn't have that speech therapist hanging around. I just now I would stoop so low as to ask if she is a cunning linguist.

Pretend you hadn't heard it before... like a million times. It's a pretty fucking great classic rock song, as is "Hotel California."
