I really need to get over my fear of moving water. Last time I went on any sort of moving water I had and incident that ended up with blood gushing from my head and another involving getting pinned under a log in a pretty tame rapid.
To be fair I was using one of these.

hehe this thread is entertaining. It's honestly encouraging as a kayaker to see that I'm not the only one who puckers whilst kayaking.

Everyone I know is scared shitless on a regular basis. I am terrified of our upcoming Payette trip, I am going to have to take a shit just thinking about it...we even have a word for it: nurpu (nervous poop).

I remember having to take a leak before every rapid the first time I got on a legitimate creek on Canyon Creek near Vancouver, WA. It became routine: Pull over in the eddy, scout the rapid, take a piss, get in your boat and run the rapid. I didn't even know that I COULD piss that much. Very scary. Very fun.

Summit, keep boating at your level. Remember, this shit is supposed to be fun. Heres a suggestion for Adimmen, Summit, PMcpose, take a day trip to Pueblo play park. Jump in everything and don't worry about getting worked or swimming. You can learn a shit ton in that park and never lose a boat or get hurt. All of it will translate to rivers and you will get comfortable quick. I know its a long drive for you guys but its worth it.

I would meet you guys, but I'll be at FolksFest sitting in the mud all weekend. BTW, park on the east end. There have been breakins reported on the west end. #6 is sooo much fun right now.

Don´t think much to learn just good to kajak much in still water to get muscle.A drain carries you along you only believe you could influence a boats course.
