That's an example of the Disneylanding of our public lands.

You still get mad respect from me. I don't think most of these guys (including me) had ever heard anyone talk about running class 4/5 like not so big a deal.
I did the Selway at pretty high flow and I am a hack kayaker. I walked Ladle ( big log on the right and two holes that were mandatory to run in the middle ) but I still ran the Selway at class 4 to 4+ flow. Doesn't mean I am a class 5 boater ( heck I am barely class 4 boater ).

So you deserve some props for the open boat thing. Keep it up.

The large raft was some sort of Grand Canyon J rig I think they call them.

Large motor powered gear barges that sometimes have up to 20 people on them.

Post up some vids if you get them.

I would like to see your point of view but I can't get my head that far up your ass.

I haven't ever paddled one... Is it like a C1?

    ....

    Taureau vs C1....
More volume, more rocker...made of polyethylene = slower than C1. More of a creeking-type of boat.

That jetboat footage on the Niagara looked pretty sick. Too bad that's the only legal way of running that stretch of river now. (not that I'd have the balls to do it...but hey, I others do...)

Hey Steved... That sounds pretty interesting, I'll look into it. On a different note, I ran my first class V+ rapid! It was called Olympic Slalom on Laurel Creek in confluence with the Tygart.
