Ugly is a Devon Rex mix and could be significantly uglier based on the pics of the pure breds I've seen.
Fur is quite soft expect on his back where it's definitely a bit coarser than the average cat. Quite curly too, he can grow the proudest chest mane I've ever seen.

Interesting read below - looks like Ugly is a Selkirk Rex. Very appropriate for this board!

Hard to know exactly what he is. Definitely a Rex based on the curly fur and whiskers (his point in a bunch of different directions on top of curving) but he has an intermediate body shape between the Selkirk and Devon and he's probably part house tabby. His melon is quite broad and flat unlike the Selkirks which are round and he had the ears of a Devon (smaller than the pure bred ones but definitely there). He's also got really long legs and a long body which is what Devons tend to look like but he's getting very rotund lately...
I think for the sake of simplicity I'll refer to him as a Maggot Rex from now on.

3 of our 4 cats do that. At this point it's not a question of whether there will be cats in the sink and shower in the morning, it's a question of which one and how loudly they'll clamor for water.
I routinely have to grab one of the kitteh's by the scruff and get them out of the bathroom sink after they jump in there while I am brushing my teeth.
